Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) announces its acquisition of over ninety GILLIG Electric Hybrid Buses, all of which will be equipped with Vanner’s Increase Accessory Power 2™ (IAP2™). The IAP2™ system will provide complete accessory electrification, powering various components such as air conditioning, air compressors, electric fans, and all 12V/24V loads. It will convert and manage the accessory electrical energy from the Allison eGen Flex™ Electric Hybrid System, ensuring continued power supply to all accessories even in pure EV-mode.

The Allison eGen Flex™ Electric Hybrid System, in partnership with Vanner’s IAP2™, has received certification from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) using a Cummins Inc. engine. Vanner Inc. expresses its gratitude for being a part of this delivery, alongside Santa Clara VTA, Gillig, and Allison Transmission, and emphasizes the functionality of the Increased Accessory Power 2™, enabling electric hybrid and zero-emission EV operation.

The IAP2™ system is not limited to electric hybrid buses but can also be directly applied to heavy-duty zero-emission battery and fuel cell vehicles. Vanner Inc. is renowned for its expertise in power conversion and power transformation for commercial vehicle electrification. With almost 50 years of experience, Vanner has been a leading manufacturer of customized power conversion systems, energy management systems, and communication systems for commercial vehicles.

In 2023, Vanner began serial production of their Liquid-Cooled DC to DC Converter, incorporating silicon-carbide solid-state devices (SiC). The company’s headquarters and manufacturing facilities are located in Hilliard, Ohio.
