Before the end of next month, India will see the introduction of five all-new SUVs and one new MPV into the domestic market. Here are the key details:
1. Audi Q8 e-tron:
The Audi Q8 e-tron is the facelifted version of the previously sold e-tron. It will be available in SUV and sportback body styles and has a claimed range of up to 600 km on a single charge. The vehicle will come with features such as air suspension, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, four-zone climate control, and a 360-degree camera system. The official launch is scheduled for August 18.
2. Volvo C40 Recharge:
Set to be launched on September 4, 2023, in Mumbai, the Volvo C40 Recharge features a coupe-like roofline and shares similarities with the XC40 Recharge. Equipped with twin electric motors, it has a power output of 402 bhp and 660 Nm. The claimed range of the vehicle is 530 km.
3. Honda Elevate:
The Honda Elevate, based on the fifth-gen City architecture, is a five-seater with a 1.5L NA four-cylinder petrol engine. It produces a maximum power output of 121 PS and 145 Nm and can be paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The price announcement is scheduled for September, with an expected range of Rs 11-18 lakh (ex-showroom).
4. Citroen C3 Aircross:
The Citroen C3 Aircross will be available in five- and seven-seater configurations in its fully-loaded Max avatar. Power will come from a 1.2L three-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 110 PS and 190 Nm. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and the vehicle is expected to have an aggressive price range.
5. Tata Nexon Facelift:
Tata Motors will soon launch the facelifted version of its compact SUV, the Nexon. The updated model will feature a redesigned exterior inspired by the Curvv concept and a more modern interior with a larger touchscreen, touch-based HVAC controls, and a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. It will also include safety features like six airbags and a sunroof. The new Nexon will be powered by a new 1.2L DI petrol engine, paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a DCT.
6. Toyota Rumion:
The Toyota Rumion, a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, is set to be launched in the coming weeks. This seven-seater MPV will be available in three variants (S, G, and V) and powered by the same 1.5L four-cylinder K15C mild hybrid petrol engine found in the Ertiga. It will offer a choice of a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission, with a CNG variant also available.
