In the previous installment, Cities: Skylines, the economic simulation was relatively simple compared to the upcoming Cities: Skylines 2. The production chain was narrower, but it served its purpose within the game’s overall systems. However, with Cities: Skylines 2 being built from scratch and featuring redesigned core systems, it was necessary to revamp the economic simulation.
The new economic simulation in Cities: Skylines 2 governs the finances and resource usage of households, helps businesses identify profitable locations based on factors such as available resources, connections, workforce, and city services, along with facilitating trade.
