OnePlus is set to reveal its latest device, the Oneplus Ace 2 Pro, on Wednesday. OnePlus China President JieLouis has shared a glimpse of one of its exciting new features called “Rainwater Touch” technology. This innovation aims to enhance the user experience by allowing better navigation on a wet touchscreen.
JieLouis expressed his surprise when the R&D team first introduced him to this groundbreaking technology. As someone who frequently uses his phone after washing his hands, he found the “Rainwater Touch” feature particularly impactful. To showcase the capability of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, he shared a video on Weibo demonstrating how the device successfully recorded touch inputs during a simulated rainstorm, while an iPhone 14 Pro failed to do so.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and is expected to boast 24GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device will feature a rear camera array headlined by a 50MP primary camera. Additionally, users can anticipate a large 5500mAh battery and a speedy 150W fast charging system.
The device will sport a 6.74-inch curved OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Furthermore, the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner will be positioned higher, offering an improved user experience. The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will also introduce the aerospace-grade Tiangong cooling system, a first for OnePlus phones.
