Box Art Brawl: Pokémon Stadium

In this week’s edition of Box Art Brawl, we are comparing the different cover designs of Pokémon Stadium for the Nintendo 64. Europe and North America had similar designs, featuring Charizard and Blastoise in the foreground, set in a packed stadium. On the other hand, the Japanese cover took a different approach, showcasing a wide array of Pokémon, including Pikachu, Venusaur, and Mewtwo, with the logo prominently displaying a “2” to indicate it as the second game in the series.

The European and North American cover successfully captures the essence of the game, presenting the Pokémon battles and the stadium environment. The Japanese cover, in contrast, focuses more on showcasing the variety of Pokémon in the game. The background is filled with images of the 151 Pokémon that appear in the game.

While both covers have their merits, it ultimately comes down to personal preference. Which region do you think had the best Pokémon Stadium box art? Cast your vote below and join us next time for another round of Box Art Brawl.
