General Motors (GM) is making significant strides in the Electric vehicle market with its latest offering, the Cadillac Escalade IQ. This new SUV is an electric version of the beloved gas-powered V8 Escalade. During a recent debut event in New York City, GM showcased the Escalade IQ, and shared drawings of the vehicle on Instagram.

The drawings provide insight into how GM initially envisioned the Escalade IQ and how it ultimately took shape. The front of the SUV closely resembles the sketches, featuring LED lights, grille, and air intake. Additionally, the design lines along the sides align with the original concept.

However, there are also noticeable changes. The rear end of the SUV differs from the sketches, with a less boxy appearance. The rear windshield is more tilted, and the backlights have undergone variations. Some sketches depicted L-shaped lights, while others featured vertical ones. Furthermore, the sporty back bumper in the drawings has been replaced with a more standard design.

Despite these alterations, the Escalade IQ exudes strength and pays homage to its predecessors, while embracing an environmentally-friendly approach. It shares components with other electric GM vehicles like the Cadillac Celestiq and Chevrolet Equinox EV.

Equipped with a large battery, the Escalade IQ boasts a travel range of 450 miles on a single charge. Production of this electric SUV will take place at GM’s Factory Zero in Detroit. Although the price has not yet been announced, it is expected to be approximately $130,000, which surpasses the $80,795 price of the V8 Escalade.

Production is slated to commence in the summer of next year, with deliveries scheduled to begin by the end of 2024. The introduction of the Cadillac Escalade IQ aligns with the exciting advancements in the electric vehicle industry, positioning the stunning SUV at the forefront of this electrifying movement.
