Xiaomi’s founder and CEO, Lei Jun, has offered a sneak peek at the design of the upcoming Xiaomi Mix Fold 3. Described as slim, elegant, and premium, the phone boasts a sleek appearance. Photos of the device were shared by Jun on his Twitter account and on Weibo.

One notable feature of the Mix Fold 3 is its camera setup. The phone will have four Leica cameras, with focal lengths ranging from 15mm ultra-wide to 115mm periscope. This is a significant improvement compared to its predecessor, the Mix Fold 2, which only had an 8MP 45mm portrait camera with 2x zoom.

Periscope cameras are relatively rare among horizontal foldable phones. The Google Pixel Fold and the Huawei Mate X3 are the only other phones with a periscope, with focal lengths of 112mm and 125mm respectively. However, the availability of these phones is limited, and the Mix Fold 3 is also not expected to have a wide international release.

The new model is described as “slim” by the CEO, and it is thinner than many other foldable phones on the market. When closed, it measures 11.2mm in thickness, compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 5’s 13.4mm. The Honor Magic V2, at 9.9mm when closed, will be one of its competitors in terms of slimness.

Leaks suggest that the Mix Fold 3 will have an IP rating, an under-display camera, and support for 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone will be fully unveiled on August 14, providing more details on its features and specifications.
