IBM Focuses on AI Differentiation and Partner Collaboration

IBM is relying on solution providers to play a crucial role in its go-to-market strategy as it aims to stand out in the competitive AI landscape. Kate Woolley, IBM ecosystem general manager, emphasizes that the company’s approach is not about being everything to everyone, but rather about providing curated models and targeted solutions for enterprise use cases. Open technologies, trust, accuracy, and customer control and ownership of data are key factors that IBM and its partners are focusing on to differentiate themselves.

One IBM solution provider, Evolving Solutions, is particularly interested in how IBM’s AI offerings can benefit the security and infrastructure business. Customers have expressed interest in utilizing generative AI tools like Microsoft-backed OpenAI’s ChatGPT and automating human resources-related tasks. The goal is to bridge the gap between making meaningful use cases and generating revenue by solving clients’ pain points.

IBM’s Watsonx AI suite includes various products such as the Watsonx.ai studio for foundation models, generative AI, and machine learning. The Watson.data data store is designed for scaling AI workloads, while the Watsonx.governance product guides and monitors an organization’s AI activities. These products aim to address different aspects of AI adoption and implementation.

The Partner Plus program, introduced to replace PartnerWorld, plays a pivotal role in IBM’s plans to scale AI through its partners. This program focuses on skilling partners and providing a transparent program for their understanding. The aim is to ensure that partners have the necessary support, skills, and clear earnings as they bring IBM’s AI technology to market.

IBM celebrates significant milestones in the Partner Plus program, including the addition of over 3,000 new registered partners in the last six months and the introduction of co-marketing benefits. Additionally, there have been more than 70,000 enrollments and 40,000 completed badges in IBM’s skilling capabilities.

Future AI models from IBM include Granite, Sandstone, and Obsidian, each addressing specific use cases and tasks. The opportunities for utilizing AI extend to both global systems integrators and smaller partners, demonstrating the broad reach of AI conversations across the partner landscape.

Overall, IBM recognizes the importance of collaboration with partners in bringing their AI offerings to market, ensuring that partners have the necessary tools, skills, and support to drive successful AI adoption for their clients.
