Take-Two CEO Defends Price of Red Dead Redemption Ports for Switch and PS4

Rockstar Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, has announced that the popular game Red Dead Redemption will be available on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on August 17, with a physical release slated for October 13. The game will be priced at $49.99 / £39.99 and will include the Undead Nightmare Dlc.

Many have questioned the price point, particularly since the game is already available on Xbox via backwards compatibility for a lower price. In response, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick defended the price, stating that it is the “commercially accurate” price for the game.

Zelnick also highlighted the inclusion of the Undead Nightmare DLC in the Switch and PS4 versions, noting that it was a popular standalone game in its own right. He believes that the bundle offers great value to consumers, especially for those who have not yet experienced the game.

The announcement by Rockstar Games emphasized the epic Western adventure of Red Dead Redemption and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmare. The Switch and PS4 versions were developed by Double Eleven Studios and offer both new players and original fans an opportunity to enjoy the game on modern consoles, including backwards compatibility with the PlayStation 5.
