New Android Update Released for Supported Pixels

Today, Google has released a new Android update for supported Pixels. However, contrary to expectations, this update is still based on Android 13, not the anticipated Android 14. Although Android 14 betas have been released early each month so far, the finalized non-beta version may still arrive later this month or in September.

The update, identified as TQ3A.230805.001, is rolling out globally for all devices except the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet, which receive specific variations. The Pixel Fold in Japan receives TQ3A.230805.001.A4, while in the US, T-Mobile, its MVNOs, and Google Fi users with Pixel 6, 6 Pro, and 6a models get version TQ3A.230805.001.A1. Meanwhile, Verizon and its MVNOs receive version TQ3A.230805.001.A2 for all models.

This update includes security patches, bug fixes, and various improvements. Some of the specific fixes mentioned by Google include resolving issues with Bluetooth keyboard connectivity for the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet, correcting Live Wallpaper display errors in different orientations, fixing launcher search input registration issues, and resolving unresponsive lock screens for the Pixel Fold. Additionally, the issue of flickering or glitches in Hub mode has been addressed for the Pixel Tablet.

As is typical with Google updates, the rollout may take some time to reach all supported devices, including Pixel 4a and later models. While some devices may receive the update within days, others may have to wait for weeks to receive it.
