A sought-after Ford Capri, made famous by its appearance in the hit TV series “The Professionals,” is currently up for auction. This eye-catching vehicle, known as the car you always promised yourself, was a massive success for Ford, with 1.9 million models produced over 17 years.

The Capri currently on sale is from 1986 and is said to be in near mint-condition. The bidding stands at £10,000, with only two days remaining for interested buyers to make an offer. This performance car features a powerful 2.8-litre V6 injection engine, producing 158bhp.

The Ford Capri boasts a sleek coupe design, complete with smart graphics, Recaro sports seats, and a five-speed gearbox. It has had two previous owners, with the second owner driving it locally for many years and regularly servicing it with a trusted family friend who is a mechanic.

Despite its age, the vehicle has accumulated less than 60,000 miles in its 36 years of existence. It is described as mechanically sound with a valid MoT. The current seller received the car as a gift when his wife’s grandmother stopped driving in 2020. The seller has done some cosmetic work on the car, and it is in excellent condition.

“The Professionals,” a popular ITV series, first aired in 1977 and ran for six years. The Ford Capri 3.0 S, specifically the Mark III model and one Mk II, was the most recognized car used in the show. The character Bodie drove a silver version, while Doyle drove a gold model. Both of these cars were previously sold at auction.

The auction for this rare Ford Capri is being held by Car and Classic.
