NASA Announces Crew for 2024 International Space Station Mission

NASA has announced the Crew members for the 2024 International Space Station (ISS) crew rotation Mission. The crew includes NASA astronauts Commander Matthew Dominick, Pilot Michael Barrat, and Mission Specialist Jeanette Epps, as well as Roscosmos cosmonaut Mission Specialist Alexander Grebenkin.

These crew members will join Expedition 70 and 71 aboard the ISS in early 2024. The ISS serves as a critical testbed for NASA to study and overcome the challenges of long-duration spaceflight, as well as expand commercial opportunities in low Earth orbit.

Since its inception, the ISS has hosted 244 people from 19 countries who have conducted over 3,000 research and education investigations in its unique microgravity laboratory. The upcoming mission will be the eighth space station rotational mission.

NASA collaborates with the American aerospace industry to provide transportation to and from the ISS using American-made rockets and spacecraft. This mission marks the first spaceflight for Commander Dominick, the third trip for Pilot Barratt, and the first trip for Mission Specialist Epps. Meanwhile, Grebenkin, with a degree in radio communications, broadcasting, and television, will be embarking on his inaugural space mission.

The crew members selected for this mission represent a diverse range of experience and expertise, highlighting the international collaboration and scientific advancements taking place aboard the ISS.
