The Stock Market performed well in the previous Monday’s afternoon trading as investors prepared for a week filled with corporate earnings reports. The Federal Reserve’s policy for the next step, decided on the Wednesday meeting, were keenly discussed.

For two days in the week, The Fed met to discuss policy changes, likely to cause yet another quarter point rate hike after June’s pause, following ten previous hikes. The rate outlook for the rest of year is left anticipated by investors.

Investors keenly observed the activity of leading corporations. Alphabet (parent company of Google) and Microsoft planned to announce their earnings post Market-close on Tuesday, while Meta Platforms planned the same for Wednesday. These three showed minor fluctuations on Monday. Many more giants, such as ServiceNow, General Electric, Visa, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Boeing, and General Motors, had their reports set for release in the following week.

The week witnessed mixed results from some businesses. IBD 50 stock Symbotic underwent a decrease by approximately 7%, with a subsequent recovery. This adjustment came with the company’s decision to form a joint venture with SoftBank Group. As a result, GreenBox was brought into being to facilitate further automation of supply-chain networks through Symbotic’s AI technology.

Notable among stock market performers were Atlas Energy Solutions and the China-based consumer products retailer, Miniso Group, which respectively surged by around 5% and 8%. Meanwhile, the “Meme-stock” AMC Entertainment rose by a significant 40%.

On the other hand, Ryanair, the budget Irish airline, experienced a heavy sell-off of 9% due to lowered projected fiscal-year traffic growth, linked with Boeing delivery delays. American Express followed suit, witnessing a decline of 1.2% after Friday’s sell-off.
With this dynamic variety of activity, the last week left plenty for investors to watch out for in the stock market.
