Internet reacts to Keanu Reeves chopping ‘John Wick’ script to 380 words

Hollywood star Keanu Reeves mouthed a total of only 380 words during the 169-minute run time of his latest release ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’.

The revenge thriller, ruling the theatres, is an action spectacle with grand sequences and breathtaking stunts, however, do not expect Reeves to say many dialogues during three hours run time of the latest ‘John Wick’ film.

As per an international report, counting the total number of dialogues by Reeves, the film featured 380 words in 169 minutes, in contrast to the 484 words in 101 minutes, on the first instalment.

About 10% of those 380 words were featured in the 2.5 minutes trailer clip of the film.

According to director Chad Stahelski, “Mr Reeves stripped out roughly half the dialogue written for his character in the initial script,” and his longest dialogue was with the character of Hiroyuki Sanada, saying “You and I left a good life behind a long time ago, my friend.”

Reacting to this report by a foreign-based portal, Twitterati dropped some hilarious reactions on Twitter, while also pointing out some of the most common dialogues.

“Its true… and most of his words were ‘Yeahhh’” a Twitter user replied on the post. Another noted, “There’s no dialogue AT ALL for the first 45 minutes of WALL-E and not much for a while after that and it doesn’t diminish the value of the character or the film. Film is an immersive audiovisual medium and lines spoken is NOT the only metric.”

“He’s a hitman. Talk less, Shoot more,” a third commented, while a loyal Reeves fan wrote, “Just saying… Keanu can say NOTHING for three hours and I will still watch it.”

Keanu Reeves sends special gift to stunt crew of John Wick: Chapter 4

Meanwhile, the neo-noir action thriller debuted in theatres over the past weekend, with an impressive opening of $73.5 million in three days, while the reviews have been mostly positive as well.

‘Chapter 4’ owes its choreography largely to director Chad Stahelski, himself a former stuntman. Starring along with Reeves – in a tale that has the titular hitman fighting a powerful international crime group – are Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard and Laurence Fishburne.
