WhatsApp now lets beta users keep messages from disappearing

WhatsApp is releasing a feature to keep messages from disappearing on iOS and Android beta

WhatsApp, Meta's famous messaging program, is launching a new feature that lets iOS and Android beta users prevent messages from vanishing. This new feature follows WhatsApp's earlier launch of vanishing messages in November 2020, which enabled messages to vanish after a certain length of time. Some beta testers have already acquired the functionality after installing the current beta version of WhatsApp through the TestFlight app or the Play Store, according to WABetaInfo, a website that follows WhatsApp beta releases.

Beta testers may now keep chosen vanishing messages from disappearing by using the new "Keep" option. Inside the chat bubble, these messages are highlighted with a bookmark icon and are also included in the "preserved messages" section. Users may still manage this functionality, which means that they have the option of deleting certain texts while keeping others. Users can also unkeep messages by selecting the "unkeep" option.

If the group admin has a limit on who may modify the group information, they may be the only ones permitted to protect a message from deletion. This implies that users must have the necessary rights to use the "Keep" option.

The ability to prevent messages from vanishing is presently accessible to certain beta testers and will be available to additional people in the coming days. This feature will provide users more control over their discussions and guarantee that critical messages are kept even if they were scheduled to delete originally.

This will provide users with an additional degree of security against inadvertent deletions and guarantee that critical discussions are not permanently lost.

While the new "Keep" option is now only accessible to beta testers, it is likely to be made available to all Whatsapp users shortly. This feature is only one of several improvements made by WhatsApp in recent years to improve the user experience. End-to-end encryption, video and audio calling, and a web-based version of the app are all new features for WhatsApp.

The new "Keep" option for WhatsApp beta users is a good feature, giving users more control over their discussions. This functionality will be especially valuable for business and professional talks when a record of specific conversations may be required. Also, the option to recover previously saved messages may be useful for those who have mistakenly lost crucial communications. WhatsApp's ongoing upgrades and enhancements show the app's dedication to offering a safe and user-friendly chatting experience.
