Stage 3 ARRC 2022 – A Major Challenge for Honda Racing Vietnam

Like the shared information earlier, SUGO racetrack is likened to a “high-speed roller coaster” with 14 continuous turns. This truly is a big challenge for the 3 riders of Honda Racing Vietnam. And the result of Stage 3 accurately reflects this.

However, with 10 points earned and valuable experiences in difficult conditions, it will help the riders and the team accumulate valuable experience for the remaining 2 stages of the ARRC 2022 season as well as future seasons.

Efforts to earn 10 valuable points for the first time at SUGO

Before competing at SUGO, the riders and the Honda Racing Vietnam team only knew about this racetrack through information from the organizers. The whole team had only about 3 days to familiarize themselves with the environment here, even the 3 riders Cao Viet Nam, Nguyen Anh Tuan, and Nguyen Duc Thanh were only able to walk to grasp and imagine how to run instead of running for a test.

Rider Cao Viet Nam earned 8 points at Stage 3 of ARRC 2022.

“I did 2 laps around the track to observe the road, the corners, from there the team calculated the appropriate way to run,” Rider Cao Viet Nam shared.

For #65, SUGO is a great challenge.

“SUGO is a big challenge. The road surface is very beautiful but because it is built on hilly terrain, there are many winding turns, continuous ups and downs, it is very difficult to see how the next turn is. Therefore, calculating and choosing the right way to run is very important to achieve good results,” rider Cao Viet Nam shared.

“Turn 9 and 10 are the biggest challenges, not only because of the slope but also because of the 2 continuous high-speed left turns,” rider #65 added.

Efforts to continue the race enabled Cao Viet Nam to finish 11th in Race 1.

A memorable point in Stage 3 is the effort to continue running by rider Cao Viet Nam in Race 1 when having to compete under rain and slippery roads. This great effort helped the Honda Racing Vietnam rider finish 11th and earn an additional 5 points in the AP250 standings.

In the UB150 category, rider Nguyen Anh Tuan also earned 2 points with a 14th place finish in Race 2.

Rider Nguyen Anh Tuan also earned 2 points with a 14th place finish in Race 2.

“After competing in this challenging stage, I have drawn many lessons and have confidence that I will improve in the final stages of the season,” rider Nguyen Anh Tuan said.

With the accumulated experience from Stage 3, Anh Tuan is confident that he will achieve better results in the remaining 2 stages of the season.

Therefore, after the first 3 stages of the ARRC 2022 season, rider Cao Viet Nam has 34 points in the AP250 category, standing at 11th out of 21 riders.

Nguyen Duc Thanh has 11 points after the first 3 stages of the ARRC 2022 season.

Meanwhile, rider Nguyen Anh Tuan earned 18 points, and Nguyen Duc Thanh still maintains his previous score of 11 points.

Stage 4 of the ARRC 2022 season is scheduled to take place at the Sepang Circuit (Malaysia) in October.
