The Acer EK220Q monitor fits the slim profile of the desk and has a large enough screen to easily run two tab side by side. This compact monitor is suitable for office work, browsing, and basic editing.

Measuring 21.5-inch screen space and around 2.8 Kg of total weight, the Acer EK220Q is a compact and lightweight monitor. Build entirely from plastic, the monitor wobbles a lot. Altering the position or accidentally tapping the panel results in a distorted viewing angle. All of this blame goes to a cheap quality stand that fails to steadily hold the monitor position during uncertain events. Other than this, I haven’t found any major build quality concern anywhere else, the rear part doesn’t register any flex, the display has reasonable bezels, and having a compact design makes it easier to move the monitor freely. Along with ports like HDMI and VGA, the real side includes 4 holes to wall mount the display. 

The 21.5-inch panel incorporates 250 nits of brightness, a 178-degree viewing angle, and a 100Hz of refresh rate. While the panel isn’t the best match to use as a gaming monitor, the high refresh rate and included AMD FreeSync technology supports eliminates screen tearing, lag, and ghosting by proving a smooth gaming experience. 

The monitor shows less color accuracy with details washed out and lacks in-depth.  The colors aren’t too bad or completely washed out, most of the time you won’t notice any difference unless you put a high-quality display right next to it. But those of you who expect colorful displays at low-price will give you rich and vibrant images,  you’ll find major disappointment with this one. 

On the bright side, Acer tries its best to optimize colors to make it more realistic and boost color depth and shadow which sometimes works, but the dark colors become greyer. Further, Acer provides a Bluelight shied and flickers technology to protect the eyes from potentially harmful rays. 

The Acer EK220Q is arguably the best monitor under 6000 and our go-to pick for anyone with budget issues and looking for a decent-quality monitor. 

2) ViewSonic VA2215H

The ViewSonic VA2215H monitor brings good picture quality, a slim design, and a comfortable viewing angle. It is a general-purpose monitor with a satisfying screen and amazingly good color accuracy for the price. 

The ViewSonic VA2215H monitor sports a 22-inch screen with 1920 X 1080 pixels resolution, 178-degree viewing angle, and 75hz of refresh rate. The viewing angle gives a clear look at the picture, even while seeing from off-center, there wasn’t a major color washout. Though, when you looked from the extremely off-center angles, you’ll find colors being soft and less vibrant than when you see from the center. 

The build quality is good for the price, in spite of having a slimmer profile, I haven’t found any flex or extreme wobbling issue. The panel registered wobble sometimes during the time I reviewed it, but they aren’t as concerning as the previous Acer monitor. 

The rectangle-shaped stand is high quality and holds display steadily with the table. You can change the viewing angle of the monitor by turning the display up and down. Similar to other monitors in our list, it isn’t supporting height adjustment or swivel. 

To connect with devices, it has traditional HDMI and VGA ports. I hoped ports like a Headphone jack or USB port could be better for audio output cause there isn’t an inbuilt speaker either.  

As far as color accuracy goes, ViewSonic offers really good colors along with a decent amount of brightness that makes it extremely easy to work in a relatively dark room or bright room. The colors aren’t perfect by any means, and they surely lack depth and details which we usually see in a budget monitor, but for the price, you won’t find any display that can compete with what the ViewSonic panel has to offer. 

The Viewsonic is tagged as a gaming monitor panel, but the performance says otherwise. I played GTA V and Overwatch for a couple of hours and experienced both frame drops and ghosting while setting graphic settings to 1920 X 1080 resolution. To fully experience the games without any issues you need to reduce the graphic setting so it can display smooth graphic performance.

The monitor sports a decently large 21.5-inch Full HD panel incorporating a 178-degree viewing angle. 250 nits of brightness and a 1MS response time. While the refresh rate is not the highest which makes First shooter gameplay smooth as butter, the 100Hz makes the frame visible more smoother than the traditional monitor. The support of AMD FreeSyncs technology ensures that games stay latency-free and eliminate any ghosting when you play games for long hours. 

The Acer Nitro monitor gamer-oriented design with a V-shaped stand and an overall aggressive design. The monitor has decent build quality, however, it wobbles a lot and you can find flex on the rear side. The stand is attached strongly to the display and gives a rigid base, but it wobbles when you gently tap the screen. 

Ergonomics are just bad as we expect from a cheap monitor, to give a contrast it only supports tilt adjustment, so there is no height adjustment or swivel. Though, it was expected from a cheap monitor and there is no major issue to complain about. 

On the bright side, the rear part comes with 4 holes to attach the monitor to a wall. Many cheap monitors don’t have this luxury. The monitor also incorporates inbuilt speakers which are fine for occasional usage, but don’t expect them anywhere near powerful as separate speakers or inbuilt TV speakers. 

When it comes to picture quality and colors, the Acer Nitro provides acceptable vividness and sharpness in pictures. Acer’s own technology optimizes colors to make them more vivid and bright so the picture seems visible and lively. As for ports, you’ll get one VGA port, Two HDMI ports, and one audio output. 

Overall, The Acer Nitro Qg221Q is a decently build and aggressively looking monitor for gamers, but office users also get the benefits of the high-resolution display and thin profile.
