Apart from the alleged Raiffeisen Bank cyber attack, NoName has also claimed to target the websites of Warsaw Metro, Bank Pekao S.A., and PKO Bank Polski recently.

Among other Polish websites, the hackers also named PFR Ventures as their latest victim. PFR Ventures is among the largest fund investors in the CEE region. However, the authenticity of the hacker’s claims could not be verified individually.

“Our attack cannot withstand the largest Polish fund PFR Ventures, cooperating with financial companies in Central and Eastern Europe,” the post claiming the PFR Ventures cyber attack read.

NoName hacker group targeting European nations

The pro-Russian hacker group NoName has been active since 2022.

They focus on political issues and target countries that have been supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia. They have allegedly targeted organizations from Poland, Norway, Sweden, and Lithuania among others.

The group carries out DDoS attacks that disrupt the services by impacting the website of the targeted entities. The attacks are aimed to send a message of retaliation to the targeted companies and nations.

Addressing how the hackers collaborate with other members a Bank Info Security report read, “NoName057(16) coordinates with a number of subgroups to carry out attacks on its targets.”

“One among these groups is DDosia through which NoName provides instructions on how to use a custom tool available on GitHub under the same name,” the report added.
