iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max review

The new phone has a new main feature, which is the screen that always works in the new (Dynamic Island) way, and upgraded cameras with a 48-megapixel main lens, in addition to the A16 Bionic chip for faster performance and new color options, Deep Purple and Space Black.

It also has the ability to detect car accidents and to contact satellites in emergencies.

Dynamic Island

With the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple introduced a new feature called (Dynamic Islands). This replaces the traditional notch found on all iPhone 13 phones.

With Dynamic Island, classes transform into different shapes and sizes for incoming calls, alerts, notifications, Face ID authentication, timers, turn-by-turn navigation, live activities, and more.

The Dynamic Islands feature is more useful than the previous iPhone notch. However, this potential advantage has not yet been fully exploited. Currently only 3rd party apps using the Now Playing or the CallKit API are supported.

According to experts, this feature (Dynamic Island) could take a year of improvement and developer attention to assess its importance.

Does continuous display affect battery life?

Experts say that continuous display does not negatively affect the battery life of the device, and with moderate use when using a mobile phone iPhone 14 Pro, while the battery will remain working for a day and a half. With the same use on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Apple has made some improvements to the new A16 Bionic chip, which contains cores designed to be an efficient screen driver.

Battery life

As we mentioned, the continuous display does not negatively affect the battery life, but the battery life has not changed much in the new phone (iPhone 14 Pro) compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 13 Pro.

However, Apple says that this matter will be different in the next phone (iPhone 14 plus), and we are waiting to try it.

A camera with 48 MP

Experts said that the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max main camera with a resolution of 48 megapixels is not much different from those cameras that we found in the iPhone 13 Pro and 12 Pro phones, and if we compared these cameras, we would find the new camera somewhat disappointing.

Phone color

The new phone, with its glass back and stainless steel frame, comes in a darker color of graphite gray for iPhone 13 Pro, a mixture of Space Black and Jet Black iPhone 7.

iPhone 14 Pro Max color is Deep Purple, which is dark purple and sometimes looks gray or black. It is an elegant and distinctive phone, silver and gold are also available.

A16 Bionic chip

The performance of the new iPhone 14 Pro chip has increased by up to 16% over the previous iPhone 13.

If we make a comparison with the previous slides, we will get the following result:

  • iPhone 12 Pro: (A14 Bionic): 1,586 single-core / 3,937 multi-core
  • iPhone 13 Pro: (A15 Bionic): 1,725 / 4,722
  • iPhone 14 Pro: (A16 Bionic): 1,875 / 5,495

Note the increase that we mentioned in the iPhone 14 Pro.

In the iPhone 14 Pro, Apple got rid of the notch, and instead introduced (Dynamic Island), as we mentioned.

Design-wise, the dynamic island consists of a pill-shaped aperture and a circular aperture, both of which house the TrueDepth camera system. Apple blends the pill-shaped notch and the circular notch into one larger bead, which is 30 percent smaller than the notch.

The durable Ceramic Shield screen protects the front of the device. Apple says the Ceramic Shield made by infusing Nano-ceramic crystals into the glass, which improves clarity and durability, and the Ceramic Shield aims to provide better protection against scratches and daily wear and tear.

There is a square camera bump on the back of the iPhone 14 Pro models, and the bump is larger than it was last year and the reason is to accommodate the new camera technology. There is a triple-lens camera setup, and each individual lens is larger.
