New Unrecord Gameplay Footage

Remember Unrecord, the ultra realistic body cam fps that broke the internet a few months ago? We have new Gameplay Footage, and it’s even more impressive than before.
Here’s what you should know about Unrecord, and why we’re impatiently waiting to play it.
Is The Unrecord Footage Real?
Studio DRAMA, the developers, have confirmed the footage presented in the gameplay videos are really in-game. We believe they used Unreal Engine 5’s Reality Scan to get textures from real places, and then translated it into the game.
The illusion is sold thanks to the convincing body cam movement, which is likely motion captured, and they added dust and other defects on the lens to make it more believable. However, if you look closely, you can see that it’s not just shot with a body cam, and that it’s actually a 3D space. Some textures will sometimes be stretched out in the corners of rooms or on some objects, so, yes, it’s definitely gameplay footage.

What the new Unrecord Footage Shows
The first gameplay previews showed rather realistic fights with a few gunshots here and there, but this new video is action-packed. It starts with the main character kicking a door and shooting bad guys outside, which is something we haven’t seen so far. It’s fast, but it looks good at a glance.
The lighting is the smoothest and most natural we’ve seen in a game, and we think it will probably push the latest graphic cards to their limits. The biggest new information we got from this video is the presence of car chases. During this sequence, the rain effects are mind-blowing, and the vehicle physics are beyond anything we’ve seen. The question remains: is it fully controllable, or will it be sequences where you just shoot?

No Precise Release Date Yet
Since Unrecord is still a work in progress developed by three persons, there isn’t any release date yet. However, the title can be wishlisted on Steam. Furthermore, DRAMA has communicated on the fact that they will give out more in 2024. So, for now, we’ll have to wait and see how the project turns out.
