GTA 6 Leaks: Everything We Know So Far

Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most-anticipated video game right now, and fans have been waiting for it for almost a decade. The last Grand Theft Auto is still one of the most played games thanks to the popularity of GTA Online, but the game is starting to show its age, especially with recent releases of games like Cyberpunk 2077 or Mafia Definitive Edition.

Not much has been revealed so far about the next Rockstar Games, but there have been a lot of leaks and rumors, so we’ll break them down for you.

What We Know About The GTA 6 Map

GTA VI will take place in Vice City, that’s the one thing everyone agrees on. Data miners have leaked layouts of the map, showing intricate road and subway systems of what could possibly be the future playground of mayhem for players. There’s also an image circulating with key locations of the state of Florida, which are apparently going to be in the game.

The map should be five times as big as Los Santos, letting you explore the State of Florida. It is rumored that the map may evolve. The developers will reportedly add more cities. If it’s true, it looks like one of the worst ideas ever. The map is reportedly massive, with the possibility to enter the airports of various cities and take the plane to visit them. We can’t be sure if any of this is true, but it’s as exciting as it is worrying, because bigger doesn’t mean better if the end result is empty.

Another rumor which is reassuring in this regard is the fact that we may have dynamic weather impacting the map. Given Florida’s climate, it’s fitting, and we could have hurricanes and tornadoes dynamically affecting the environment. This would make the game more unpredictable and fun.

Characters in GTA 6

GTA IV introduced several playable characters through the DLC content, and GTA V took it a step further by letting players switch between characters during the game. For this upcoming episode, we only know about two characters right now, a male and a female. Last year’s leaks showed gameplay with a robbery in a small dinner reminiscing of Pulp Fiction on steroids.

However, we still don’t know if there will be more playable characters, and if the system will be similar to GTA V. There are also rumors of returning characters, like Trevor or CJ, but nothing has been confirmed. It’s possible since GTA V had small cameos from GTA IV characters, but we’ve never seen characters from the first trilogy (GTA III, San Andreas, Vice City) appear in HD GTA games.

Furthermore, it appears that the two main characters will have a “Bonnie & Clyde”=type relationship, being two robbers performing heists together, and also having an intimate relationship. We’ll possibly have two more characters to play with, but they haven’t been shown and all we know about them is a leak showing two names in a dev menu: Billy and Kai.

It’s also possible that the characters won’t start their journey together, and you’ll have to choose one to start, before eventually crossing paths with the others. We also suspect it may happen at different points in the story depending on your choices.

That’s The Sound of The Police!

Another interesting leak has been reported on Reddit from a user living in Scotland. He’s the owner of a fully kitted Crown Victoria Interceptor, and he has been contacted by a dev team to record the sound of his car with an expert pilot. We’ve also seen news of Rockstar apparently working on a new police system.

This new system promises more intense car chases, with cops harder to get rid of than previously. Cops on foot may have more advanced AI too, and will be able to approach you as a suspect more efficiently and not putting themselves as much in the line of fire as in previous games.

Will GTA 6 Be Any Good?

We haven’t seen many improvements in gaming graphically lately, outside of the Unreal Engine 5, but it seems like this is not where the next revolution will happen. It’s more and more evident that the possibilities offered by AI will be what makes the next generation. AI can now be used to create entire maps, edit levels seamlessly, generate NPCs, create quests, and tailored dialogue.

So, we believe that the next revolutionary game will be the big budget commercial release implementing all of these technologies and offering a more immersive experience to players. It could also give the option to play the game using VR, AR and motion gaming for the wealthiest players.

What do you think about the AI trend in gaming? Are you welcoming it, or feeling wary? Let us know in the comment section below.
