Ubisoft Forward: 3 New Assassin's Creed Games Unveiled!

Credit: @Ubisoft

Since the first episode following the adventures of Altaïr in 2007, Assassin’s Creed has clearly become Ubisoft’s bestseller. After completely remodeling the game, turning it into a gigantic open world with deep RPG features, it seems like Ubisoft is going back to the roots of the series with Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

However, it’s not the only game they’ve announced during their Ubisoft Forward event, and after two years of silence, we’re getting three Assassin’s Creed games. Here’s what you should know about these games.

Everything You Should Know About The Three Assassin’s Creed Games Releasing Soon

1. Assassin’s Creed: Mirage – Back To Basics

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will follow the adventures of Basim, a character that already appeared in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, the game takes place in Baghdad before the story of Eivor. We’ll get to explore the famous city with the trademark parkour moves of the game.

Ubisoft has decided to make the map smaller than previous entries, to make it more detailed and lively, with each district offering its specificities. In terms of gameplay, there won’t be the grind implied by the former RPG formula of Valhalla. The experience will be closer to the first AC trilogy, with more story-driven missions and different ways to approach your assassinations.

  • Release Date: Oct. 12th, 2023
  • Platforms: PlayStation 5, Pc, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Amazon Luna

2. Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade – The Long-Awaited Mobile Game

An Assassin’s Creed game set in Ancient China has been requested by fans for a long time. Those prayers have been heard, but not the way you may expect. Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, will offer an intrigue set during the Qin Dynasty, when the trade route to the West was finally secured. You’ll be able to customize the appearance of your character for the first time in the franchise, and explore a huge open-world. However, the game will be released on iOS and Android.

  • Release Date: 2023
  • Platforms: iOS, Android

3. Assassin’s Creed Nexus – Enter The Animus in VR

While we haven’t seen any gameplay footage for it, Assassin’s Creed Nexus is a promising project. It’s a VR game developed for MetaQuest, allowing you to play as Ezio Auditore, Kassandra, or Connor from AC III. The game will have a story, with each level offering to fight Abstergo with real motions. You can fight, you can hide, perform stealth takedowns, blend among civilians, and do parkour, just like any AC game, but in VR.

  • Release Date: Holiday 2023
  • Platforms:  Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3

2023 Is A Big Year For Assassin’s Creed

If you love the universes depicted in the Assassin’s Creed, you’re going to have a lot to play this year. Whether it’s on mobile, consoles, pc, or in VR, Ubisoft has decided to forge an experience for each type of player.

From the trailers and screenshots we’ve seen, they’ve been working on improving the graphics and making the game area more dense. It’s a good thing, since the main criticism they received for their previous games was the emptiness and the sheer amount of collectibles.

We’ll still need to get our hands on these games, but as fans of the historically accurate depictions the series is known for and the prospect of exploring Baghdad, China, and to revisit Italy, Greece, and America with new graphics is honestly exciting.
