Diablo is more than a game, it represents the entire genre of Hack‘n Slash, and it’s been one of the most played pc games of all times, thanks to its addictive gameplay, deep lore, and gorgeous cinematics. 11 years after Diablo III and after the failure of Diablo Immortal due to questionable practices from Blizzard, fans are expecting a lot from Diablo IV.

Since Blizzard has recently released a story trailer, today we’ll tell you everything you need to know about Diablo IV before its release date. Let us know in the comments section below if you’ve ever played any Diablo title and if you intend to play this new Diablo game. with. Three years later, Hemsworth is back with Sam Hargrave directing, and the Russo brothers producing again. Can it capture lightning in a bottle once again?

The Ultimate Diablo Episode?

Diablo IV picks up 50 years after the story told in Diablo III: Reapers of Souls. Diablo has been vanquished at the end of the main Diablo III story, and Malthael steals the Black Soulstone. The main character ends up fighting and defeating him too, which shatters the Black Soulstone, releasing the Seven Evils unto the world.

In Diablo IV, the mayhem caused by both the angels and the demons has left earth in a dark place, and as people try to rebuild, a new entity appears: Lilith, daughter of Mephisto. This new menace is even bigger than before, and the story trailer even teases fights in Hell. All of this sounds pretty final, and this could be the end of the current Diablo storyline. However, the license is so juicy we hardly see Blizzard not creating a Diablo V in ten years.

Diablo IV Platforms, Cross-Platform Compatibility, & Release Date

Diablo IV will release on June 6th, 2023 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, and Xbox One. This action-RPG will offer a cross-platform feature similar to what Diablo Immortal attempted to offer, with some issues that broke the experience. This has been fixed since, but it hurt the game’s reputation. To celebrate the release, Blizzard will also create a crossover event in Diablo Immortal with Diablo IV.

Is Diablo IV a Pay-To-Win?

Diablo Immortal has its controversies, mostly because of the Battle Pass system, which was a clear pay-to-win, and it angered fans of the series. Kagan Clark, director of product, has communicated on the matter in the August quarterly update, claiming the Battle Pass will only have microtransactions for cosmetics and extra challenges, but nothing that gives another player the edge. A statement we’re tempted to doubt, but at the same time, Blizzard will also probably include exclusive missions to players paying for the Battle Pass every season to incentivize them.

What To Expect From Diablo IV?

Diablo 4 will continue to build on what made the success of the first games, while incorporating new mechanics. In Diablo IV, you’ll have PVP areas which are risky, but can grant you extra rewards, and Strongholds which, depending on your choices, will have a lasting impact on the map. Furthermore, the game promises incredible graphics compared to Diablo III, making good use of volumetric fog, RTX-style reflections, and even more details and physics objects and particles.
