Learn to Swim

Beginning to Swim early can be both lifesaving and healthy – at Star Swim School we offer quality training sessions in a safe learning environment to keep kids active.

Learn to Kid offers continuous learning for children year round. Baby Swimming lessons Cranbourne take place 49 weeks a year to provide consistent training and accelerate the student’s progression through levels faster.

Kids enrolled in small group classes to maximize individual attention from their coach and reduce any risk of drowning. Our certified instructors ensure a safe learning environment. Through quality lessons like these, kids develop confidence in water sports while building self-reliance.

Water Safety

Star Swim Schools was founded on the idea that water skills and safety are crucial life lessons for babies and toddlers, and our programs ensure quality training sessions with tangible results within an ideal learning-to-swim atmosphere. As students age, classes become increasingly independent while helping them form safe swimming habits. Our “Guppy” group for students aged two-and-a-half to five years old teaches water safety practices such as blowing bubbles, floating on their backs or bellies, reaching the edge of the pool if they fall in. It serves as an essential step on their journey toward learning to swim!

Parent and Child Classes

Parents/grandparents/carers and babies/toddlers work together in small groups with an experienced teacher to learn water familiarization using toys and songs in an encouraging and enjoyable atmosphere. Babies and toddlers learn essential swimming skills such as floating, submersion, propulsion, kicking and other important swimming abilities; sooner these techniques are introduced the better their performance when transitioning to lessons without their parent/carer present in the pool.

Your children can train year round in our heated indoor pools, eliminating sickness or weather-related cancellations as they gain confidence faster in the water than they would in an outdoor setting.

Our Seahorse Group classes, tailored for infants and toddlers ages six months to two and a half years old, meet once every week with no more than ten children attending each class supervised by an experienced instructor.

Why Your Kids Need Swimming Trainers

Swimming class Cranbourne offers children many advantages; it helps foster socialization, physical strength and brain development.

Make sure that the class sizes are kept small to maximize individualized attention and ensure “touch supervision” of infants and toddlers.

Children who learn how to swim can enjoy pool parties, beach trips and boating trips more freely than their counterparts who don’t.

Improved Fitness

Swimming is an effective, low-impact exercise that strengthens numerous muscle groups in the legs, back, abdomen, arms and shoulders. Swimming also helps children build endurance and flexibility as well as help dispel excess energy they might otherwise accumulate.

Studies have demonstrated that children enrolled in formal swim lessons are less likely to drown than their counterparts who do not take lessons. Instruction in proper strokes & water safety may reduce this risk, yet lessons alone should not be seen as a replacement for constant adult supervision of pools/oceans.

Swimming instructors frequently work with young children in group settings, offering an ideal way for them to engage in positive social interactions and learn to follow instructions from someone other than their parent(s). This boosts both self-esteem and confidence; children who enjoy swim lessons often eagerly share them with family & friends – further building them.

Better Sleep

Swimming can help children exhaust energy and prepare them for bedtime at the end of a long day. Sleep-deprived kids are less irritable and better capable of learning.

Studies show that children who swim have stronger skeletal muscles and improved cardiovascular health, such as healthier hearts, lungs and blood vessels. Furthermore, swimming helps children increase concentration which can aid them both academically and socially at school and at home.

As well as traditional lessons, some families enrol their kids in the Infant Survival Response (ISR), an aquatic program that teaches infants six months old or older how to reach the surface of water, roll onto their backs, float, and breathe until rescued safely – an extremely effective drowning prevention technique that may save lives while simultaneously helping children avoid feeling intimidated by fear of falling into bodies of water.

Reduced Risk of Drowning

Drowning is one of the leading causes of child deaths, yet it can be prevented through enrolling kids in private swim lessons early. Swim lessons also teach them proper water safety measures while instilling respect for water when visiting other people’s pools or lakes.

Research indicates that formal swimming lessons reduce the risk of drowning for toddlers ages 1-4 by 88%, yet children still can drown even with adequate supervision; it is therefore imperative they learn how to ask permission from parents, lifeguards or swimming instructors prior to entering any pools and natural bodies of water such as lakes and rivers.

Children should never be left alone near any body of water, even during swim lessons or play in the pool with friends. A responsible adult must always supervise them, including when taking swim lessons or splashing around with other kids in the pool. In order to provide maximum supervision and minimize distractions like reading books or using phones while they’re near bodies of water – including reading aloud from books while using cell phones or mowing the lawn!

Improved Self-Esteem

Drowning is one of the leading causes of infant death, so it’s crucial that kids learn how to swim. Learning this essential life skill will allow them to stay safe if they encounter water at any point during their lives – whether it’s at the beach or lake swimming. Swimming not only strengthens muscles and builds confidence in children but can also strengthen vocabulary development and memory function, according to studies done on participants in swim lessons.

Swimming isn’t like other sports; your child can learn at their own pace and take lessons at a pace they find enjoyable. Encourage your child to work hard at their lessons and remain persistent – perseverance will pay off in the end! It will teach your child an invaluable life lesson!
