As per the recent announcement by the “wabetainfo” Whatsapp is going to release a new feature in the future.  The new feature is named “Report status update”.  At present this feature is under development and will be released soon. In September 2021, Whatsapp has released a feature “Message Reporting” which enabled its users to report a specific message. And now Whatsapp is going to announce a new feature Report Status Update which allows Whatsapp users to report any status update against the company terms and conditions.  Whatsapp has released the screenshot to report the status update feature which is as under.

The above screenshot revealed that Whatsapp is working on the report status update feature and plans to put a report button within the status options.  When you report any status update then the content of that status update will be communicated to the concerned moderation Whatsapp team to determine if it is against the Whatsapp terms of service or not.  After a review by the Whatsapp moderation team, the status update may be removed by the company.

Since all messages, voice calls, media, location sharing, calls, and status updates are protected by the end-to-end encryption protocol on all devices, as was mentioned in our earlier article, the addition of this function does not affect end-to-end encryption. End-to-end encryption makes sure that nobody, not even WhatsApp, Meta, or any other proxy service provider, can see the contents of your messages or hear the contents of your private calls. For the platform's and its users' continued safety, the report feature for status updates is crucial. Note that comparable report tools are available in other instant messaging apps, so this is not particularly unusual.

A future release of the WhatsApp beta for Android will include a feature that allows users to report status updates. As always, when we have more information to share with you, we'll post a new piece on our page.
