Patent №:11924884 (March 5, 2024) – Preamble and physical uplink shared channel resource ordering and scrambling identifier generation for two-step random access channel procedure. The disclosure involves wireless communication, where a UE receives RACH configurations from a base station, generates a preamble resource index, and sends an uplink RACH message containing a preamble and payload.

Patent №:11924863 (March 5, 2024) – Subband precoding signaling in a wireless communications network. The system provides methods for wireless communications. A UE receives a subband precoding configuration from a BS, indicating the size of subbands. Based on this, the UE selects precoders from a candidate set according to a spatial direction order, and transmits signals to the BS across multiple subbands using these precoders.

Patent №:11924810 (March 5, 2024) – Narrowband management for machine type communications. The patent focuses on managing narrowband regions within system bandwidths for devices with limited communication resources, like MTC and eMTC devices. It involves determining DL and UL narrowband regions, mapping between them, and communicating with a BS using these regions.

Patent №:11924801 (March 5, 2024) – Determining factors for splitting positioning state information (PSI) between uplink control information (UCI) and medium access control control elements (MAC-CE). The techniques involve wireless positioning where a UE conducts positioning procedures with TRPs and sends positioning reports via low layer signaling or both low layer and secondary signaling.

Patent №:11924699 (March 5, 2024) – – NR sidelink intra-cell relay measurement. The UE receives a candidate relay configuration from a source relay, measures reference signals of candidate relays, sends a measurement report to the source relay, establishes a connection with selected candidate relays, and receives a relay switch command to switch to a target relay from the source relay.

Patent №:11924659 (March 5, 2024) – Pose-based beam update techniques for wireless communications. A UE can monitor a set of beams and request an update to its monitoring configuration based on its position, orientation, or rate of change thereof.

Patent №:11924140 (March 5, 2024) – Subband channel quality information. It determines selected CSI reports for these subbands based on the reference signals and transmits information about a subset of these reports.

Patent №:11923983 (March 5, 2024) – Communication of a status bit for deferred hybrid automatic repeat request feedback. The UE receives multiple downlink transmissions, generates acknowledgment data for each transmission indicating successful decoding, and then transmits at least one status bit to the base station based on this acknowledgment data.

Patent №:11923922 (March 5, 2024) – Encoding and resource mapping for multiplexing feedback codebooks. A UE determines resource amounts for transmitting feedback codebooks for two service types by overlapping resource schedules.

Jerome R Morgan

Principal Engineer at Ethicon Endo-Surgery.

Patent №:11918302 (March 5, 2024) – Sterile field interactive control displays. The unit receives input commands from the touchscreen within a sterile field and transmits them to the surgical hub to control devices outside the sterile area.

Patent №:11918213 (March 5, 2024) – Surgical stapler including couplers for attaching a shaft to an end effector. Surgical end effectors and fastener cartridges feature firing lockout mechanisms to prevent or restrict firing when a cartridge is not properly installed or has not been replaced.

Patent №:11918212 (March 5, 2024) – Surgical instrument with selectively disengageable drive systems. A surgical instrument comprises a surgical end effector and a threaded rotary input shaft. An actuator member engages with the end effector and the input shaft, enabling axial motion to activate the end effector when engaged and preventing rotation when disengaged.

Patent №:11918210 (March 5, 2024) – Staple cartridge comprising a cartridge body including a plurality of wells. A staple cartridge includes a body with staple cavities extending from a deck to a bottom surface. Wells are defined from the deck to a lowermost surface, surrounding staple cavities. Staples are positioned in the cavities.

Patent №:11918209 (March 5, 2024) – Torque optimization for surgical instruments. The controller shows live images from the visualization system and the instrument’s status on the display during surgery. The status aligns with features of the instrument or tissue depicted in the images.

Yue Wang

Mr. Wang received a B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2006, and a Ph.D. degree from the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2012.

Yue did Postdoctoral Research with the Department of Computer Science, Peking University, Beijing, China, from 2015 to 2017.

He is currently the Director of the VideoArch Department. His current research interests include image and video coding, processing, and transmission technology.

Patent №:11924469 (March 5, 2024) – Conditional signaling of reduced secondary transform in video bitstreams. The described method for video processing involves converting a current video block to its coded representation. This conversion includes determining the suitability of a secondary transform tool based on the block’s width and/or height.

Patent №:11924463 (March 5, 2024) – Gradient calculation in different motion vector refinements.
The method refines initial predictions for a video block using optical flow calculation based on a gradient of initial prediction samples according to a precision rule. This refined prediction block is then used in the conversion of the video block to its coded representation.

Patent №:11924432 (March 5, 2024) – Condition dependent coding of palette mode usage indication. The method involves converting a video block to a bitstream representation, following a format rule. This rule signals the usage of palette mode and intra block copy (IBC) mode, with their indications dependent on each other.

Patent №:11924422 (March 5, 2024) – Sub-partitioning in intra coding. The disclosed video processing methods involve converting a block of a current video picture to a coded representation using an intra-subblock partitioning (ISP) mode. Predictions for sub-partitions are determined based on samples in the current picture using the ISP mode.

Patent №:11924421 (March 5, 2024) – Blending method for inter prediction with geometry partition. The described digital video coding methods involve using default motion candidates. In one method, weights for a weighted average of prediction samples along an edge of two block partitions are determined.

Arumugam Chendamarai Kannan

Mr. Kannan received the B.E. degree in electronics and communication engineering from Anna University, India, in 2002, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, in 2004 and 2007, respectively.

He is currently a Principal Engineer with Qualcomm Technologies Inc., where he has contributed to the design, prototyping, and standardization of multiple LTE and 5G cellular wireless technologies ranging from advanced receivers, shared unlicensed spectrum operation of cellular systems, millimeter wave communications, the Industrial IoT, and wireless AI/ML research.

Patent №:11924785 (March 5, 2024) – Synchronization signal block pattern with gaps. A method performed by a network entity involves determining an SSB pattern that specifies SSB positions for sweeping a set of SSB beams over multiple SSB bursts with gaps between some positions. The pattern identifies a subset of SSB beams to use per SSB burst, and SSBs are transmitted accordingly.

Patent №:11924015 (March 5, 2024) – Phase tracking reference signal for multi-transmit/receive points. A phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) corrects phase noise in wireless communication. For a UE scheduled for one PDSCH with DMRS ports in multiple DMRS CDM groups associated with two TCI states, PT-RS is configured with two PT-RS ports instead of one.
