Recognizing Inventors with Centurion+ Utility, Design and Plant Patents as of November 28, 2023

Welcome to the 28th of November 2023: Our goal is to celebrate the pioneering recognizing inventors who have reached noteworthy milestones in their fields this week.

Lisa Seacat DeLuca

Senior Director of Engineering at Unstoppable Domains.

Lisa holds a Master of Science in Technology Commercialization from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University with minors in Business Administration and Multimedia Productions. She is an Inductee into the Women in Technology International (WITI) Hall of Fame.

She is a TED speaker, a self-published author of two children’s books titled “A Robot Story” and “The Internet of Mysterious Things”, and the most prolific female inventor in IBM history and the only one to ever reach the 100th Invention Plateau Award (an IBM internal Patent award system).

Patent №:11829166 (November 28, 2023) – Image analysis for temperature modification. This patent explores a method for monitoring occupants in an interior environment. By analyzing a set of images, the system identifies occupant characteristics and compares them to external temperature to generate a discrepancy factor. If the threshold is exceeded, the system initiates a modification of the interior temperature. This invention has the potential to revolutionize energy efficiency and create more comfortable living spaces.

Brent A Anderson

IBM Semiconductor Research – Senior Technical Program Manager Vertical Transport FET (VTFET) Chief Architect.

Patent №:11830774 (November 28, 2023) – Buried contact through fin-to-fin space for vertical transport field effect transistor.

This patent focuses on the fabrication methods and resulting structures that introduce buried contacts in the fin-to-fin space of vertical transport field-effect transistors (VFETs). These buried contacts act as connecting points between the bottom source/drain regions of the transistors and a buried power rail. This innovation enhances the overall performance and functionality of VFETs.

Toni Weinschenk

Chief Technology Officer Immatics Biotechnologies | Immatics US, Inc.

Patent №:11826409 (November 28, 2023) –Peptides and combination of peptides for use in immunotherapy against prostate cancer and other cancers.

This invention relates to using peptides, proteins, nucleic acids, and cells for cancer immunotherapy. It involves tumour-associated T-cell peptide epitopes, which can be used in vaccines or to stimulate T cells for patient treatment. These peptides can also be targeted by antibodies and other binding molecules.

Patent №:11826410 (November 28, 2023) –Peptides and combination of peptides for use in immunotherapy against various cancers. This invention pertains to using peptides, proteins, nucleic acids, and cells for cancer immunotherapy. It involves tumour-associated T-cell peptide epitopes, which can be used in vaccines or to stimulate T cells for patient treatment.

Madhusudan K Iyengar

Principal Engineer at Google since 2014.

Previously, he has worked at IBM and Facebook. Mr. Iyengar received a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota, in 2003.

Patent №:11832396 (November 28, 2023) – Cooling electronic devices in a data center.

This patent discloses a server tray package designed to effectively cool electronic devices in a data center. The package features a liquid cold plate assembly comprising a base portion and a top portion. By utilizing a heat transfer member and a cooling liquid flow path, the invention optimizes the thermal performance of heat-generating processor devices. This invention addresses the crucial need for efficient cooling in data centers to mitigate heat-related issues effectively.

Gregory G Raleigh

Inventor of the MIMO technology used in Wi-Fi, 4G and 5G wireless standards.

Raleigh received a B.S.E.E. degree from the California Polytechnic State University, an M.S.E.E. degree from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. from Stanford University.

Patent №:11832117 (November 28, 2023) – System and method for wireless network offloading. This innovation provides cellular service providers with tools to direct or encourage subscribers to offload their network usage from a cellular network to a Wi-Fi network. By leveraging network data, cellular service providers can determine wireless offloading priorities for individual subscribers or groups. This system enables providers to create prioritized network lists for wireless devices, offering incentives to subscribers for offloading to Wi-Fi networks and optimizing network efficiency.

Matthew Nirvan Sharifi

Matt Sharifi received a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Southampton, Southampton, U.K., in 2007.

He joined Google in 2007 and has worked on a number of projects including YouTube Content ID, Mobile/Android, Speech, and Sound Search.

He has been working at Google Research since 2014, with a focus on applications of on-device machine learning.

Patent №:11830486 (November 28, 2023) –Detecting near matches to a hotword or phrase.

Sharifi introduces a method that identifies failed hotword attempts by processing audio data and encourages a more accurate response to voice commands. Such technology has significant implications for the enhancement of voice-controlled systems and their integration into everyday life.

Larry B Gray

Experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the medical device industry.

Skilled in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Medical Devices, Autodesk Inventor, and SolidWorks. Graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Private pilot, instrument rated.

Patent №:11826543 (November 28, 2023) –Syringe pump, and related method and system.

This inventive syringe pump utilizes a lead screw, cam, and assembly with dynamic arms and threads to expertly drive the plunger of a syringe into its barrel. This innovation holds significant potential for precise and efficient fluid delivery in medical and research settings.
