The Oneplus Open has been launched today globally. It is the first folding smartphone from the brand as it enters the foldable market which in recent years or months we have seen stiff competition among the majority of Android phone manufacturers the likes of Samsung, Oppo, Honor, and Vivo.

For those who are confused about the name, the just-launched OnePlus Open is the same device which in earlier months this year was rumoured to be called the OnePlus V Fold.
The foldable is offered in a single storage configuration, 16+512GB, which is priced at 1,39,999 ₹, 1.699 $, 1.799 €, 1.599 £, in India, North America, Europe and the UK, respectively.
OnePlus Open Specifications
The foldable comes packed with a 7,82-inch OLED with a resolution of 2.440 x 2.268 pixels and a pixel density of 426ppi. The peak brightness of the inner screen is 2800nits.
Moving on to the cover screen the handset is equipped with a 6,31-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2.484 x 1116 pixels, a pixel density of 431PPI and an aspect ratio of 20 by 9. The adaptive refresh rate technology makes the panel able to go down to 10Hz and up to 120 Hz refresh rate depending on the content shown on the screen of the device.
Speaking of performance, this foldable runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Regarding the battery specifications, the OnePlus Open carries a 4.805mAh dual-cell battery which supports up to 67W fast charging. With this tech, the foldable can go from 0 to 100% in a mere 42 minutes.
As far as the camera goes, the inner display features a 20MP selfie sensor while the outer display features a 32MP selfie sensor.
Its triple rear camera system includes a 48MP Main camera Sony LYT-T808 “Pixel Stacked” CMOS, a 64MP periscope telephoto camera (OmniVision OV64B, 3x optical zoom) and a 48MP ultra-wide camera (Sony IMX581).
The foldable runs on OxygenOS 13.2 which is based on Android 13. It will receive four years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates.
Regarding wireless connectivity, the foldable carries support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC.
The OnePlus Open comes in two colour choices, namely Voyager Black and Emerald Dusk.
