Google Pixel 8 Series With The Latest Tensor G3 Chipset Debuts Globally; Also Confirmed To Be Eligible For Up To Android 21

Today during the MadeByGoogle 2023 Event, the US-based company announced its latest smartphones from the new Google Pixel 8 series as well as a wearable known as Google Pixel Watch 2.

Starting with the Google Pixel 8 series, the first two models of the family have been already unveiled globally, the regular Google Pixel 8 model and the top model Google Pixel 8 Pro.

Compared to the past generations, the new Google Pixel 8 series phones come with more exciting news to tech enthusiasts and phone lovers not only on the hardware side but also on the software side.

Google Pixel 8 Series: Software

Both Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro run on the latest version of Android OS, Android 14. Besides that, Google has announced its plan to extend OS support to its latest smartphones starting with the Pixel 8s.

According to the company, the Google Pixel 8 series smartphones will receive up to 7 years of OS support. This means the just launched Google Pixel 8 series smartphones will be supping up to Android 21, which is likely to arrive in 2030.

Starting with the vanilla Google Pixel 8 model, the handset flaunts a 6.2″ FHD+ OLED display with a peak brightness of 2000nits. Its panel runs at up to 120Hz.

Powering the 6.2″ Google Pixel 8 is a brand new Google Tensor G3 chipset, that is backed up with 8GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Just like the previous models, this new Pixel also includes a secondary chipset for security which is known as Titan M2.

When it comes to camera specifications, the new Google Pixel 8 still maintains the same number of cameras as its predecessors: two on the rear and one on the front. The rear camera system includes a 50MP wide camera with OIS and a 12MP ultrawide camera. On the front, there is a 10.5MP sensor for selfies and video recording during video chatting.

The Google Pixel 8 has a 4575mAh battery and offers support for fast wired and wireless charging just like the majority of the $500+ smartphones. With this model of the Google Pixel 8 series, you will get up to 27W wired charging and 18W wireless charging support.
