Nokia has taken the lid off its latest 5G smartphone from its G series. This smartphone is known as the Nokia G42 or Nokia G42 5G.

The Nokia G42 brings a 6.56-inch LCD with HD+ resolution and up to 90Hz refresh rate. Other display specs include 560nits peak brightness and a 20 by 9 aspect ratio.
With regards to performance, the handset runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ processor which is paired with Adreno 619 GPU and up to 6GB of RAM. It runs on Android 13 and according to the company, it will receive two generations of Android OS, Android 14 and Android 15. Also, besides OS upgrades, this smartphone will receive 3 years of security updates.
Its triple camera setup is home to a 50MP wide camera, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie shooter is an 8MP sensor.
Regarding the Battery specifications, this smartphone gets you a 5000mAh battery which supports up to 20W of rapid wired charging.
The Nokia G42 5G features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a single microphone and a single speaker.
Connectivity options include 5G connectivity (as its name suggests), NFC support, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and a USB-C 2.0 port for fast wired charging and file transfer. Moreover, the handset still features a 3.5mm headphone like most budget smartphones.

The Nokia G42 comes in three finishes, namely So Grey, So Purple, and So Pink.
Price and Availability
There are two memory configurations of the Nokia G42, 4+128GB and 6+128GB. The 6GB model will set you back around 12,599 INR. It will go on sale starting from September 15, 2023.
According to the company, it will be available via the Nokia India site and Amazon.
