As per reports, Xiaomi’s subsidiary company Poco is planning on releasing budget midrange smartphones from its Poco X5 series next year. And so far, two smartphones have been tipped to be coming form the Poco X5 lineup, the vanilla Poco X5 and the Poco X5 Pro.

Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition

According to rumours, these Poco phones might not be completely new handsets, especially to the tech fans, as they are said to be just the rebranded versions of the just launched Redmi phones.

As per reports, the regular Poco X5 model is said to be the Redmi Note 12 5G while the Poco X5 Pro could be the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition.

Since the Poco X5 Pro is said to be just a rebadged Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition, we expect it to have a 6.67″ FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, 5000mAh battery and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G mobile platform.

The Poco X5 Pro will be a 67W fast charging phone and also in order to minimize heat during consumption, the handset could include 2000mm²VC. This phone could feature 16mp selfie snapper and a 108mp+8mp+2mp triple rear camera setup. The handset is expected to support LPDDR4X and UFS2.2. And for security purpose, the Poco X5 Pro could use a side facing fingerprint sensor.

On the other hand, the standard Poco X5 could come with some tweaks. Unlike the Redmi Note 12 5G, this model is expected to come with different processor. The Poco X5 could ditch the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor for Snapdragon 695 SoC.

This 5G-enabled Poco phone is tipped to have a 6.67″ FHD+ 120Hz Samsung OLED panel with 240Hz touch sampling rate and peak brightness of 1200nits.

The Poco X5 could be a dual camera smartphone that includes a 48mp primary camera and a 2mp macro camera for close-up shots. Its front camera could be an 8mp sensor.

The 5000mAh battery will responsible for powering this Snapdragon 695 phone and also it is rumoured to support up to 33W fast charging. This phone might ship with Android 12 (MIUI 13) out of the box instead of the MIUI 14.
