TCL 115-inch Mini-LED TV: 5,000 nits Brightness, 20,000 Dimming Zones

In a recent announcement at CES, TCL revealed its latest addition to the world of televisions, the 115-inch QM891G QLED TV. This new mini-LED TV from TCL boasts an impressive set of features, including 20,000 Separate Dimming Zones and over 5,000 nits of brightness, making it a promising addition to the TV market for those looking for an immersive viewing experience.

The QM891G is packed with features, including a 120Hz QLED display with the option for 144Hz with VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium, anti-glare screen coating, and an integrated 6.2.2-channel Dolby Atmos Speaker system with up-firing speakers. Additionally, the TV comes equipped with an ATSC 3.0 tuner for next-gen broadcasts.

The 20,000 separate dimming zones and 5,000 nits of brightness offer excellent contrast and vibrant colors, and the TV also features the TCL AIPQ Ultra Processor and Quantum Dot technology, covering 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

The QM891G is a new addition to TCL’s lineup of TVs. However, it appears to be a variant of the TCL X11G Max QD, a 115-inch, $13,000 television that has been available in China. Tech reviewer Linus Sebastian recently praised the X11G, which may indicate good things for the new QM891G.

At CES, TCL also announced the QM8 QD Mini LED TVs, available in sizes ranging from 75 inches to 98 inches. These TVs offer similar features to the 115-inch model, including 5,000 Nits Peak Brightness, 120Hz QLED panels (144Hz VRR), and anti-glare coating. Additionally, the QM8 series includes an in-built 2.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos speaker system, Dolby Vision IQ HDR, and an ATSC 3.0 tuner.

The QM7 series, another addition to TCL’s lineup, offers QD Mini-LEDs in sizes ranging from 55 inches to 98 inches, with 1,500 local dimming zones, up to 2,400 nits peak brightness, and Game Accelerator 240 for gaming enthusiasts. These TVs also feature HDR Ultra with Dolby Vision IQ and a 2.1-channel speaker system with a built-in subwoofer.

Finally, TCL unveiled the regular (non-Mini-LED) QLED Q6 and Q6 Pro series, available in sizes ranging from 43 inches to 98 inches. The Q6 series features an LED backlight that is 28% brighter than previous models, while the 85-inch and 98-inch versions come with a 120Hz display panel.

The Q6 Pro variants, measuring 55-85 inches, have a full array local dimming that is 33% brighter (600 nits) than last year’s top TCL QLED series. Additionally, buyers can enjoy hands-free voice control, a backlit remote, and adjustable width feet on larger sets, adding to the appeal of TCL’s new TV lineup at CES.
