The bespoke gin has been infused with a variety of traditional botanicals including whole juniper berries alongside the very best in local coastal botanicals. From locally foraged Sea Purslane to sea buckthorn, these botanicals really capture the spirit of the sea.

Inspired by the deep blue sea

Ebba Tidal is inspired by the deep blue sea – represented in the bottle’s colour, and also in subtle notes of ocean botanicals harvested beneath its surface. Distilled using a traditional London dry method on a copper alembic still, it features 10 different botanicals including juniper, coriander, angelica, cassia, orange, lemon, cardamom, vanilla and hand picked Cornish elderflower and gorse flower.

The flavour is crisp and clean with a heady, early pine nose. Citrus zest comes through in the mid-palate and continues to develop on the long, floral finish.

Coastal gin is becoming all the rage, with botanicals dotted up and down coves, beaches, rock pools and bays across the UK. Some pay homage to their coastline with higher navy strength gins, while others simply use the diverse plants that thrive in local waters, from kelp to dulse and sea spaghetti.

One of the best examples of this is Tarquin’s Gin, which takes a world-spanning botanical basket of orris root from Morocco, green cardamom seeds from Guatemala, cinnamon from Madagascar and Devon violets from the distiller’s garden in Cornwall. Coriander

Gin is a light-bodied spirit flavored with juniper berries and botanicals. The base is typically a grain spirit, but gin makers may use different bases and include a range of flavors to their spirits.

Most gins are distilled in column stills, which produce high-proof spirits with little to no flavor compounds or other congeners. Some gins, called ‘Compound’ Gins, are distilled in less-efficient pot stills and include additional flavoring agents.

Tarquin’s Cornish Dry Gin is distilled over a naked flame in a copper pot still using twelve botanicals. The traditional juniper is present, but more interesting inclusions include Devon Violets and a few lesser known additions.
