Zoho vs. G Suite for Business

Google Workplace (formerly known as GSuite) and Zoho are two widely used productivity suites that offer a medley of easy-to-use cloud-based apps and tools for business to indulge in seamless business operation, collaboration, and communication. In this article, let’s compare Zoho vs. G Suite features, privacy and security, cost, and storage in detail.

Features Comparison

The apps of Zoho are classified into three categories – Office Productivity, Team Collaboration, and Unified Communication.

  • The word processor app – WRITER, the spreadsheet app – SHEET, and the presentation app – SHOW fall under Office Productivity category. All these apps are cloud-based and allow collaborative work.
  • Online apps like WORKDRIVE which lets users store, manage, and share files, SHOWTIME which is an online training and education platform, and MEETING which is a web conferencing platform fall under the Team Collaboration category. These apps help in the seamless collaboration of all the team members, irrespective of where they work from.
  • Under the Unified Communication category, falls the ZOHO Mail. ZOHO mail is a web-based email hosting service with impressive features like email groups, email sharing, folder sharing with delegation, recall sent mail, etc. It also includes various tools like the Cliq messaging platform, Connect software for team collaboration, and various utilities like built-in Calendar, Tasks, Notes, Bookmarks, and Contacts.

The apps in Google Workspace are pretty more than that of ZOHO. Some of the Google Workspace apps that are counterparts to the ZOHO apps mentioned earlier are DOCS – a cloud based word processor, SHEETS – a cloud based spreadsheet software, SLIDES – a web based presentation software, DRIVE – a cloud storage space for synchronizing and sharing files, MEET –  a video conferencing platform with Chat and Calendar integration, and GMAIL – Google’s signature business email hosting service.

Other cool and efficient apps in Google Workspace are –

  • CHAT – an instant messaging platform
  • CURRENTS – a platform for team discussion and content management.
  • FORMS – a survey administration software
  • SITES – a no-code website development platform
  • APP Script – a low code platform that lets you build apps on top of Google Workspace.
  • CLOUD SEARCH – advanced search tool to search across Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets etc in one go.
  • ADMIN – Administration tool to manage users, roles and access.
  • ENDPOINT – state-of-the-art security platform
  • VAULT – Archiving and eDiscovery platform
  • WORK INSIGHTS – a reporting tool to analyze business’s Google Workspace usage.

Security and Privacy

When it comes to security standards, both ZOHO and Google Workspace have uncompromised security practices and technologies in place. irrespective of which software suite you choose, you can be guaranteed that your data is secure because both include two-factor authentication, data encryption at rest and in transit for file storage, encryption at rest for email, and TLS encryption.

However, there have been lots of debates and discussions on Google’s privacy policy, its data collection practices, and user tracking. On the other hand, ZOHO has never faced any complaints on selling user information for advertisement purposes. So, in terms of privacy, ZOHO unarguably has an upper hand!

Technical Supports

Google Workspace is the undisputed champion with respect to technical support. Zoho resolves customer queries and complaints through a rich knowledge base which includes webinars, FAQs, and user guides as well as a self-service ticketing system.

However, all these are nowhere close to  Google Workspace tech support which provides solutions through email, chat, and phone around-the-clock. Additionally, Google Workspace promises a knowledge resource, certification programmes, and forums for customer support.

Cost G Suite vs ZOHO

  • Both GSuite and ZOHO have several plans to meet the requirements of every client. There are a number of things to take into account when evaluating the costs of G Suite and Zoho than just the cost itself.
  • G Suite has flexible pricing plans ranging from entry-level alternatives for small enterprises to sophisticated enterprise solutions. Essential productivity tools like Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Drive are included in the entry-level subscription at a fair price per person.
  • Zoho offers a more complete set of tools, including email, document management, customer relationship management, and project management, all in one convenient package.
  • For companies that need many applications, Zoho’s price structure is competitive and frequently more cheap.
  • It’s crucial to remember that greater features and sophisticated functionality could come at a higher cost and Google Workspace adheres exactly to it.

Storage Comparison

When comparing storage options between G Suite and Zoho, both platforms offer ample storage capacities.

  • G Suite provides generous storage limits, ranging from 30 GB to unlimited storage depending on the plan chosen. This allows users to store and access their files, documents, and emails without worrying about running out of space.
  • Zoho, on the other hand, offers storage capacities that vary depending on the specific application and plan. For example, Zoho Mail offers 5 GB of storage per user, while Zoho Docs provides 100 GB per user in its standard plan.

Bottomline

Both ZOHO and Google Workspace have their own pros and cons and it’s important to evaluate your organization’s needs, research on both the platforms, and then make an informed choice on Zoho vs. G Suite.
