How to develop a realistic open world game like GTA on Android.

For this post we will learn how to make our own open world game like GTA with realistic graphics on Android. This is an android tutorial for beginner's level to learn game development, i have tried my best to explain everything about game development with code examples for each step, before starting if you don't know anything about programming then you should read A beginner's guide to programming in Java here and a very important thing:This tutorial is not made by me but i am just sharing it here.

We need a lot of things to make a game.

Like making a movie, you'll need a lot of things to make a game. First, you'll need a team of creative and technically gifted people. You'll also need time to develop your game and money for your staff and equipment. Finally, you'll need guidance from experts in the field who can offer suggestions on how to make the game more appealing to players around the world.

In order to achieve all this, you're going to want to make a plan before starting. Like any good movie or book, your video game should have an interesting plot that keeps players engaged throughout their experience with it. Your story board will help you create scenarios that are challenging and exciting while keeping them within the realm of possibility for your team's abilities as well as resources available at hand in your budget.

3D models

Every game has 3D models. A 3D model is any 3D object in a game. There are many types of 3D models: characters, cars, houses, trees, roads, and so on.

To create a new 3D model or edit an existing one, you need to use a software called Blender. Blender software is available for both Windows and Mac OS X.

Animation

To create animations, Unity provides a dedicated editor called the Unity Animator Controller. It enables you to create your own customized animation controllers and assets that can be used to animate GameObjects The fundamental object in Unity scenes, which can represent characters, props, scenery, cameras, waypoints, and more. A GameObject’s functionality is defined by the Components attached to it. More info

See in Glossary inside your game or application.

Unity’s animation system allows you to assign multiple animations to one model. For example: one Unity model has three different animations: idle (standing), walk (moving), and run (fast movement). Now if you want to animate your game character by using any of these three animations then you have to follow a specific procedure for that and that procedure is called Animator Controller in Unity 3D.

Map development

The first thing you have to understand is that making a map in Unity is not difficult, but it can be tedious. Maps are made of different types of meshes, and those meshes are comprised of individual vertices.

The following steps will explain how to create a basic map:

  • First, you need to select the type of mesh you want to use as the base for your map. Let's start with something simple like a plane mesh. It's one of the easiest meshes in Unity because it has less vertices than some other options like cubes and spheres.

  • Next, we need to add more detail by adding more vertices so our map looks realistic instead of flat and blocky. To do this, let’s subdivide our mesh (the default action when using a plane mesh) into 20 sections -- meaning each side of our square shape would have 20 subdivisions on both sides (20x20 or 400 total spaces). This would make our map look pretty close to how we want it! But now we need to do one more thing...

  • We need details between each subdivision using something called tessellation . With tessellation , we can add 2-D shapes inside each subdivision (like triangles ) that give us even more detail within the map itself! This process creates smooth curves between vertices and makes the entire world look much less rigid than before! It’s important not only for aesthetics but also gameplay purposes since players will always want their environment to look its best while they explore everything around them :)

Character controller and player controller

You have to specify a character controller and player controller scripts that are defined in game engine. Character Controller Script is used for main character while player controller is used for other players.

So, how you categorize the two? Well, it's simple:

  • The player controller script is used to control the behavior of the other players in your game world. This can be particularly useful when playing a multiplayer game, as each player will need their own instance of the Player Controller-controlled object, which handles all of the input from their respective controllers or keyboards.

  • The character controller script is used to move and control objects that are controlled by you in your world.

Weapons, weapons sounds, effects, etc.

This part is really tricky and needs a lot of patience too. After making the character and its movements, we need to create weapons for him/her and make them work. We also need to add shooting sounds, bullet effects, etc. For this, I just created some basic weapons like pistol, rifle, etc but you can make all types of weapons according to your wish.

Gameplay

Gameplay is the specific way in which players interact with a game, and in particular with video games. Gameplay is the pattern defined through the game rules, connection between player and the game, challenges and overcoming them, plot and player's connection with it. Video game gameplay is distinct from graphics and audio elements.

Arguably, the most important gameplay mechanic is that of the player character (also known as avatar or character) over time within the game world; to this end, developers attempt to create intelligent agents for computer-controlled characters (NPCs), such as enemies that can follow scripted patterns of behavior but still appear unpredictable to players; however, it has proven very difficult to design characters that can effectively simulate intelligent behavior while maintaining a challenge for skilled players.

Usability development and UI development

Preparing the UI is one of the key parts of this project, since it’s what your users will be interacting with on a constant basis. While you may start off with a basic in-house design, it’s important to get some honest feedback from friends, family and colleagues along the way. Make sure that you’re constantly testing new versions out on people and asking for their thoughts.

The main goal of all this work is to give your users an enjoyable experience that makes browsing and shopping online simple. If it all sounds like too much hard work, then why not check out an expert website builder instead?

QA technical and designer job.

  • The QA team is responsible for the detection of errors in various types of game content.
