In honor of Disney's 100th birthday, Hyundai has teamed up with the entertainment giant to create a limited-edition version of the Ioniq 5. Revealed initially as a concept at the 2023 New York Auto Show, the Disney100 Platinum Edition offers an array of enchanting Disney-themed design elements both inside and out.

Although the Disney100 Platinum Edition closely resembles the standard Ioniq 5, a closer look reveals the magical differences. One of the standout features is the Gravity Gold Matte paint color that gives the commemorative electric hatchback a distinctive appearance. Hyundai even fitted what they've coined as "Disney-inspired wheels," and adorned the fenders with exclusive Disney100 Platinum emblems. It's a far more subtle homage to Disney than, say, a Disney-themed Vespa.

Stepping into the vehicle, Disney fans will find the Disney100 logo embossed on the front headrests and center console. The same emblem graces the floor mats, and an artful motif of Mickey Mouse's iconic silhouette adorns the front and rear door panels. For an extra touch of enchantment, Hyundai has added a Disney-themed introduction to the infotainment system's touchscreen. When the car is turned on, it plays Disney music while displaying the Disney100 logo and a sprinkle of pixie dust.

While Hyundai hasn't disclosed the technical specifications or clarified which version of the Ioniq 5 the Disney100 edition is based on, the regular-production Ioniq 5 offers a range of options. Buyers can select between rear- or all-wheel-drive configurations and opt for one of two battery packs. The entry-level model delivers 168 horsepower and a range of 228 miles. Stepping up to higher trim levels unlocks 225 horsepower and up to 303 miles of range for the rear-wheel-drive variant, while the all-wheel-drive version offers 320 horsepower and 266 miles of range.

The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition is set to hit the market early in 2024, but it will be produced in limited quantities with only 1,000 units available. As for pricing, Hyundai has yet to reveal those magical numbers. For reference, the standard Ioniq 5 starts at $42,785, including a $1,335 destination charge.
