Vishal Bharadwaj has returned to his forte, transforming literary works into cinematic masterpieces. However, this time, his focus isn't on Shakespearean adaptations but rather on bringing writer Amar Bhushan's espionage novel, "Escape To Nowhere," to life. Bhushan's novel draws inspiration from real-life events, given his previous role as the head of RAW's counter-espionage unit. The upcoming Film stars Tabu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles.

Scheduled for its premiere on October 5th, the movie revolves around the character of Krishna Mehra, portrayed by Tabu, an officer with the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). Her mission is to uncover a mole within their ranks who is clandestinely trading the nation's defense secrets. The film promises to lead the audience through a riveting narrative of love, betrayal, and a web of well-guarded secrets.

During an interview, Vishal Bharadwaj disclosed his decision to change the gender of the film's central character to female, ultimately cast with Tabu. He mentioned that this choice was driven by his desire to collaborate with her, a testament to their artistic partnership.

The film was officially announced in September 2021, with shooting commencing in October of the same year. The final leg of filming took place in Canada, featuring Tabu and Ali Fazal. Bharadwaj emphasized his intention to craft a gripping espionage thriller that contrasts the meticulous nature of intelligence and surveillance work with the profound emotional conflicts of its characters.
