  • First, users need to locate the scan pst utility. Open the Task Manager on your system, and go to the Processes tab.

  • You go to the Inbox Repair tool by the name scanpst.exe.
  • Running the scanpst utility, make sure that Outlook is closed. 
  • Double-click the scanpst utility to launch the Inbox Repair tool.
  • On the Inbox Repair tool, enter the Browse button and go to the folder where the PST files are saved. 
  • Choose the PST file that you want to repair.
  • Enter the Start button to initiate the scanning process. 
  • It may take some time to scan the corrupt PST file, do not cancel the process.
  • The scanning process is complete, users will see an error report.
  • To repair the errors found in the scanning process, enter the Repair button.
