AI-powered voice transcription service Otter.ai unveiled OtterPilot, an AI Meeting assistant, to transform meetings and boost productivity and save time.
Key Features of the OtterPilot
- The feature, which will soon be available to users, will automatically generate an AI summary of the important subjects covered and email it to those who were invited to the meeting or an Otter group.
- Links to highlights are included in the AI summary, making it easier to return and listen to important portions.
- Otter had previously provided a beta version of Automated Outline for Business users, but the new ‘Automated Summary’ function, which is the culmination of a completely new AI summary model, features better summarising.
- OtterPilot will also take pictures of the slides that are displayed during online meetings and add them to the meeting notes to quickly locate and remember crucial slides and transcripts to recall shared knowledge.
- OtterPilot also employs AI to write real-time meeting notes and share them with everyone. Attendees can see the live transcript, comment, identify important information, and give tasks. Otter can automatically share the Otter notes with a certain group or those invited to the meeting.
- Otter.ai’s Otter Assistant is now included in their brand-new product, OtterPilot. The bot can automatically join your meetings on your calendar and deliver well-written discussion transcripts to you.
Otter.ai’s chief executive officer and co-founder, Sam Liang, expressed his thoughts on how AI significantly impacts our daily lives. He compared the advancements of Otter’s AI capabilities to that of Tesla’s Autopilot system, which has helped and inspired him on his daily commute to work. “Similarly, we’ve seen the huge improvements in Otter’s AI capabilities, and now our OtterPilot promises to eliminate note-taking, save time, and improve meeting productivity for our user’s next billion meetings.”, he added.
Otter.ai has reached an impressive milestone of transcribing over a billion meetings, with over 100 million in 2021 alone.
“We’re building the AI to make the enterprise workflow much more efficient, much more intelligent, the Otter AI is able to provide answers to proprietary, customizable information,” added Liang.
Fueling AI-Powered Ambitions
As the race for AI supremacy continues, with players like Microsoft, Google and Baidu releasing one chatbot after another.
Microsoft launched a new version of its Bing homepage powered by AI, aka ‘Copilot for the Web,’ featuring an expanded chat box that can answer questions beyond factual ones. The company released the revamped search engine and Edge web browser at the surprise event, which they disclosed minutes after Google launched its conversational AI chatbot Bard. Meanwhile, Google added its LaMDA-based AI chatbot Bard to search at its ‘Live in Paris’ event. Now you can get a summary of answers to your queries, similar to ChatGPT.
On the other hand, Amazon is developing a way to enhance LLMs, known as Multimodal COT, which reduces information hallucination and has surpassed GPT-3.5 by 16% on the ScienceQA test by using the chain of thought (COT) approach for more human-like reasoning abilities.
