Lexus’ latest electric car borrows a controversial feature from Tesla

The all-Electric Land Rover Range Rover P60 is a stunning car. It comes with a six-figure price tag, but its performance and luxury make it worth every penny. Land Rover’s popularity in the luxury car market has soared in recent years due to the brand’s high end, off-road capabilities. However, for many, the brand’s SUV lineup was too small and lacked in technology. That’s not to say that Range Rovers aren’t capable sporty SUVs. The P60 is one of the best examples of this concept in form, despite costing more than some luxury sedans with similar equipment. The Range Rover P60 Energi is another example of what can be achieved when combining technology and craftsmanship to create an all-new vehicle from scratch. It borrows some controversial features from Tesla in order to achieve what it sets out as its main goals: being fast and fun off road regardless of its large size. Let’s take a look at how this electric SUV achieves these goals.

What is the difference between a Tesla and Land Rover?

Both Tesla and Land Rover have been pioneers in the automotive industry for many years, but the similarities between the two brands end there. While Tesla focuses more on technology and creating entirely new vehicles, Land Rover specializes in vehicle customization — something it started in the 90s with its first creation, the Discovery Sport. The Discovery Sport was one of the first vehicles to ever come with a stereo system built into the center console. The new Discovery will continue to be based on the same platform, but it will be up to Chevy to bring the car to market.

How does the P60 Energi achieve its goals?

The P60 Energi is perhaps the first hybrid Land Rover has ever made, and as such, it has created a lot of excitement among both investors and enthusiasts. First off, the obvious — this is an Electric Car, after all — is that this is where the bulk of the power comes from. The rest of the power comes from the two-cylinder engine, which is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission and is mated to the front-wheel drive chassis.

Where did Land Rover go wrong with its prior e-SUV offerings?

There are a few areas that come to mind when discussing the prior e-SUV offerings from Land Rover. First, the choice of powertrain. The Jaguar Df and Land Rover Range Rover Evoque 2.0 were plug-in hybrid vehicles, but both proved to be underwhelming in the marketplace. Additionally, the Range Rover Evoque 2.0L was a huge letdown following the Discovery Sport. It was the first significant change in Land Rover’s lineup in over a decade, and it was met with mixed reviews.

Is the Range Rover P60 Energi really worth $68,000?

When we first saw the Range Rover P60 Energi, it was described as “worth every penny.” Which, to be fair, is probably a bit of an exaggeration. We can understand why someone who has just purchased a luxury car might be excited about the idea of driving it off-road. But is it really worth $68,000? We put the price of the P60 Enerhi on a value per dollar basis, taking into account the car’s features and the money saved over the course of a year with the electric car. All things considered, the Range Rover P60 Energi is definitely a good car. But is it the best car in its class? We’d have to look at how the price compares to other models to determine if it’s the right car for the right person.

What’s next for Land Rover’s e-SUV lineup?

The Range Rover P60 Energi is the most recent entry in the lineup, and it’s the most expensive. However, there are rumors that the Jaguar Df and Land Rover Range Rover Evoque 2.0 will make their long-awaited returns in 2019. We also know that Land Rover is working on a new supercharged Durarq engine for its EVs that will make the Durarq’s S engine look like a minor upgrade. Additionally, an all-new Range Rover is in the works, and it is expected to be unveiled at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show. This will be Land Rover’s first new vehicle in five years.

Final words: Is the Range Rover P60 Energi worth $68,000?

The Range Rover P60 Energi is a pricey car, but it’s also one of the most capable e-SUV models available. While it is no Tesla Model S, it provides more than enough power and functionality for every situation.
