Australian squad for Male Under 19 series against England

Cricket Australia (CA) has today named the Australian squad for the upcoming multi-format Under 19 series against England.

The Youth Selection Panel has selected a 15-player squad following the conclusion of the 2022-23 Under 19 Male National Championships in Adelaide.

The squad features six players from the title-winning New South Wales Metro team, while Queensland Metro and Western Australia each have three representatives.

NSW Metro defeated Queensland Metro by six-wickets to claim the Under 19 Male National Championships title in the Final at Karen Rolton Oval on Thursday.

The win capped a remarkable week for NSW Metro skipper Joel Davies, who was named Player of the Tournament.

Davies amassed 458 runs at an average of 114.5 across six matches, including two centuries, to go with his eight wickets.

The Under 19 Male series against England begins on January 29 with a four-day match at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.

“The upcoming multi-format international series will provide our players with an exceptional development opportunity, particularly in longer form cricket.

“It was a difficult task to narrow our squad down to 15, but we will continue to support and monitor the development of all players in our pathways programs as we build towards the tour of England in the winter and the 2024 Under 19 World Cup in Sri Lanka.”
