The story of Deepak Parashar, who made his special identity with his strong acting in films in the 80s, is very filmy. Born on 2 April 1952 in Pune, Deepak’s father was in the army and mother was a housewife. I came to Delhi after my father’s transfer, then I had to take admission in the college after completing my studies. Took admission in St. Stephen’s College and during this time also did a course in hotel management. One day when I went to a restaurant to have coffee with my friends, I saw that there was a line of boys and girls. So it was told that the form is being filled here to become Mr. India and Miss India.

Country’s first ‘Mr India’ made in 1976
At the behest of friends, he also took part in this competition. Friends arranged clothes in a hurry and Deepak Parashar went on passing all the rounds from ramp walk to question and answer. Reached Mumbai for the next round, where youth from all over the country reached for this crown. The fire continued even after reaching Mumbai and in 1976 he was elected the first ‘Mr. India’. Zeenat Aman and Dev Anand presented him with the crown.

Work learned with Shyam Banigal
After becoming ‘Mr India’, he started getting many offers of modeling. After adding many top brands, she became a part of the list of top models. Then Deepak turned to films. He worked as an assistant director on cult classic films like Bhumika, Nishant and Ankur. By working with directors like Shyam Banigal, he learned the nuances of Bollywood and then he started getting offers for acting as well. He participated in the United Producers contest and became its winner as well. It was the same competition, the film industry which gave a superstar like Rajesh Khanna.

Acting debut from BR Chopra’s film
BR Chopra gave him a big offer and he entered Bollywood as an actor. This film was ‘Insaaf Ka Taraju’, which was released in 1980. Zeenat Aman appeared with him in this film. After this he was seen in ‘Aap To Aisa Na The’. The song ‘Tu Is Rah Se’ from the film became such a hit that not only people but also the makers became crazy about her performance. This was the period when more multi-starrer films were being made. His pairing with Raj Babbar was solid.

Deepak married a fan
He married a fan named Sarita. After marriage, a daughter was born, who was named Radhika. When the daughter was 5 months old, she was lured from Dubai for a film event, where she was to be felicitated. When he reached Dubai, he went on a boat ride there. Fate had something else approved and that boat became a victim of a painful accident. In the accident, 2 people present with Deepak died and he was badly injured. He was taken to the hospital. After many efforts, he was rescued and brought back to India after several days.

everything changed in 3 years
The person who was the owner of a beautiful personality, was now forced to walk on a wheelchair. His celebrity life was also ruined. After this accident, his wife left him with their daughter. However, his parents were with him in this difficult time. It took him 3 years to emerge from this accident. But in these 3 years, Bollywood had forgotten him and in the meanwhile many new faces had made their place.

Had to do B grade films again
Deepak made many trips to the makers to get work again, but in Bollywood only the rising sun is saluted. Like the setting sun, the lamp was also forgotten. Signed B grade films due to not getting good banners. In an interview, he told that he got entangled in horror films in such a way that he continued doing horror films for years.

Said in Bigg Boss- Yes I am gay
He made his TV debut in the year 1993 with a serial named ‘Aandhiyan’. After this ‘Zee Horror Show’, ‘Chandrakanta’, ‘Swabhiman’, ‘Law’, ‘Rishtey’, ‘Dollar Bahu’, ‘Kahin To Hoga’, ‘Bigg Boss 1’, ‘Chandramukhi’ and ‘Neem Neem Honey Honey’ ‘ As seen in the TV show. In Bigg Boss, he revealed that he is a gay and this statement created a lot of discussions in the film circles. His statement was shocking for the audience.
