Yet another Productivity system that won’t work for you!
Well maybe?
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been chasing the cloaked unicorn of productivity my entire life. I’ve tried many different techniques to stay focused, and I’ve failed more often.
Hopefully, you’ll find this helpful; I know I will find it useful. 🧩
The Trello Connection
I’ve been using Trello for a couple of years now. I have boards of boards and systems I’ve developed over the years. I use Trello as a vast dumping ground for ideas.
I organize my boards like this.
I prefix my board names with personal, work, family, Etc.
It’s good to collect all the things you’ll never get done, but actual work needs to happen.
More significant items live in my plethora of boards; then, I break them down into consumable steps in my Scheduled board.
I was most recently working from a standard To-Do list, and I found that I would start a task, then get too easily distracted. I also realized that I couldn’t do nearly as much as I thought.
It’s super simple, forcing me to break down what I need to do to reach my goals.
Principled Focus
Another critical aspect of my productivity system is the use of guiding principles.
I have many principles I live by, and one that’s at the top of the list in order. I get scatterbrained if my sphere of influence is a jumbled mess. I feel utterly compelled to sort lists, file emails in the correct folders, and keep things tidy around me.
I’m currently focusing on order, so I pick out tasks within that guiding principle. If I feel my life is sufficiently in order, I’ll move to health, then intelligence, Etc.
This compartmentalization forces me down a practical path.
Conclusion
I wonder how many different Productivity Systems exist in the universe? I bet there are more productivity systems than NodeJs packages.
I wish you the best of luck on your productivity journey!
