After long talks with the government, Tesla is finally coming to India. They are currently looking for land for an electric car factory in India. According to Reuters, Elon Musk’s company is looking for locations for its first showroom in the country in New Delhi and Mumbai.

Tesla is eyeing showroom space in India as well as factories

Tesla is planning to open a showroom in New Delhi. In addition, they are also targeting the industrial city of Mumbai. However, it is unknown whether they have any such plans in cities like Kolkata, Chennai, or Hyderabad. Reuters reports that Tesla’s showroom will be built over a space of 3,000 to 5,000 square feet. There will even be a service hub. In the initial phase, Elon Musk’s company is thinking of opening showrooms in these two cities.

The US firm is in intensive talks with several real estate firms. They target crowded areas or areas around shopping malls. The company plans to operate an electric vehicle factory in India within this year.

Incidentally, Tesla has not officially announced anything about starting the electric car business in India so far. All discussions are based on speculation. Speculations are also rife that the Indian company will be the first to land its Model 3 car. It is their cheapest electric car. The model is priced at $39,000 in the US market. Which in Indian currency stands at around 32.50 lakhs.
