This time Mahindra will shake up the market by registering the trademark of four cars at once, hinting at a big bang

Mahindra is good at making SUVs. Over the past few years, the company has focused on Electric vehicles. Currently they have only one EV model in their portfolio called XUV400. However, the company is taking initiatives to capture the market by launching more electric cars at the rate at which the competition is increasing. Mahindra has registered four trademarks together. Which is expected to be used in the Indian brand’s upcoming electric cars.

Mahindra has filed trademarks for four new names

The names Mahindra has applied to trademark are – XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO and XUV 1XO. Besides, nothing special is known. Significantly, like Scorpio, Bolero – XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO and XUV 1XO – each model has English letter ‘O’ at the end. The current status of this trademark filed by the company is ‘Accepted and Advertised’.

This means it is currently being held for public feedback. So anyone can oppose if they want. This means that the stage of trademark registration has not yet been completed. Reports claim, these names could be used in the upcoming EV version based on the company’s existing petrol or diesel models. The company’s previously unveiled XUV.e and BE range of models are likely to be renamed.

Notably, a trademark was filed last year for the name XUV.e8 for the full electric version of the upcoming XUV700 based on the born-EV INGLO platform. However, it is assumed that a new name will be used this time. Currently Mahindra’s only electric SUV is the Tata Nexon EV as a rival to the XUV400. The XUV400 costs Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
