5 tools that make my work easier – Victor Tran, Co-Founder & CEO of Kyber Network and Kyberswap.com

A fast-paced digital-first company that has a distributed workforce is more common nowadays, as compared to just a few short years ago. One such company is Kyber Network, a company focused on making DeFi accessible, easy, cheap, fast and secure for users. The flagship product, KyberSwap, is a next-gen DEX aggregator providing the best rates for traders and maximizing returns for liquidity providers in DeFi.

At the helm is Victor Tran, the Co-Founder and CEO of Kyber Network. As one of Kyber Network’s Co-Founders as well as a Forbes 30 under 30 Asia alumni, Victor has been an integral part of the company since day one, first as Lead Engineer, Head of Engineering and CTO before stepping in as CEO earlier this year (2022).

Geana Barbosa, Head of SEA at Asana, shares the tech tools she uses to manage her team and work

To manage his increasing responsibility and in line with his technical background, Victor uses a slew of tools to manage his team and work. The company continues to grow and is currently deployed on 12 chains, including Ethereum, Polygon, BNB, Avalanche, Fantom, Cronos, Arbitrum, BitTorrent, Velas, Aurora, Oasis and Optimism.

KyberSwap powers 100+ integrated projects and has facilitated over US$8 billion worth of transactions for thousands of users since its inception.

Up your planning with Notion (Paid)

Kyber Network’s values includes Transparency and Open Heartedness. We are also Result oriented. As a decentralized finance player, we need a tool that fits our decentralized organization and our values. Notion helps greatly in organizing and maintaining the knowledge base of our team. It also helps reduce the time to put my ideas, articulations, thinking process to written format. In fact, anyone in the team including interns, can see exactly what top management are discussing through our documentation in Notion.

With Notion, each department has their own respective workspace for planning and discussion, but it’s also open and transparent to other teams so we can all stay informed on what’s happening. It’s also easy for us to loop each other in a project page for discussion or collaboration if needed.
Notion also has convenient preset templates for planning and organization, such as Roadmaps, Tasks Boards, Marketing and even Invoice Tracking.

Telegram for secure communication with users (Free)

As a DeFi project, Kyber Network not only has partners from all over the world, but we also have a global team working remotely. Telegram provides a platform for our team and partners to communicate and share information quickly and effectively. Designated groups are easily created with specific partners and team members can be looped in easily with just a username.

One of Kyber’s social channels is also on Telegram, where our users from all around the world can offer feedback and suggestions for what they want to see in Kyber or even just to raise some user issues or questions.

Telegram’s encryption also provides privacy which sits with our decentralized DNA, and many blockchain teams and users use it as a preferred mode for communication.

Use Vim for coding (Free)

Vim is a text editor for Unix which I use for editing and coding my programs. It’s a highly efficient tool I enjoy using as Vim is the default fallback editor in all POSIX (Portable Operating System Interface) systems, so it’s very widely used. The program itself is also universal, so you don’t have to readapt your learning with new versions or updates.

This fits into our Kyber values as well, as we appreciate ease of use with protocols and technology.
Vim is highly configurable, so any user can adapt it to your own way of coding and other individual preferences. Vim is also free and open-source, which fits in with one of the benefits of blockchain we strongly believe in.

Github for better collaboration amongst developers (Paid)

Github is a leading remote-first organization with values that I personally relate to. In my research of Github and the team, I found them to be a good example of transparency which I try to model myself and others to follow.

As a code hosting platform for version control and collaboration, Github is a tool that helps developers and programmers to work on code collaboratively. As a DeFi platform, Kyber has a large team of engineers so Github is pretty much invaluable to myself and the team to maintain and organize our data..
At Kyber, we pride ourselves on being transparent and open source. With Github, our codes are available for public view and we encourage others, not just out internal team, to vet and contribute to our works

Manage your crypto with KyberSwap (Free)

Of course, I use what I build. As a crypto user and advocater of DeFi, I believe in a goal to create a seamless and secure exchange experience, while maintaining user privacy and self-custody of assets.
KyberSwap provides access to 20,000+ cryptocurrencies and we pride ourselves on providing the best exchange rates possible, so users can trade with confidence on our platform.

We’ve also worked to design KyberSwap to be as user-friendly as possible, so swaps made would automatically go straight to the user’s wallet without having to key in an address.

KyberSwap is also equipped with tools designed to benefit users of any experience level, from our Pro Live Chart for technical analysis, to our Discover feature, DeFi’s first automated predictive tool which identifies potential tokens before they trend based on on-chain data, trading volume and price trendlines
