Recommended paint correction products

If you have landed here, you are either just a curious reader or something has gone terribly wrong with the Paint on your vehicle. It is one of the scariest moments, you’ve enjoyed your time with your car that had an incredible shine, with deep and rich colors, and suddenly it now needs some TLC. This could happen from a parking lot incident, or some of the less common ways of causing paint issues. No worries, here are our top recommended paint correction products.

What is paint correction?

Any service that eliminates paint flaws such stone chips, chemical etching, bonded contaminants, fine scratches, swirl marks, holograms, and hazing is referred to as “paint correction” in general.

These flaws develop over time, although they will differ according to:

  • When, where, and how you operate the vehicle
  • Where it spends the night
  • Your region’s weather and environment
  • The makeup of the paints and the methods for applying them
  • A vehicle will have a decontamination pass treatment as necessary. touch-up painting, multistage polishing, coating, and safeguarding the newly finished surface.

Compound: Chemical Guys V34 Optical Grade Hybrid Compound

Chemical Guys V34 Optical Grade Hybrid Compound is a mid-grade compound that finishes like a fine polish while removing minor to moderate paint flaws and faults from extremely hard paints. With optical quality decreasing abrasives that restore both old paint finishes and recently painted panels, V34 is designed for quick cutting.

Heavy Duty Compound: Chemical Guys V32 Optical Grade Extreme Compound

The first extreme compound, Chemical Guys V32 Optical Grade Extreme Compound, was created to remove major paint flaws and blemishes from ultra-hard paint finishes. V32 is a fast-cutting formulation of optical grade micro abrasives that restores both previously painted surfaces and recently painted panels. The cutting-edge compound removes severe paint flaws, swirls, scratches, and oxidation while priming the paint for better final polishing results.

Polish: Chemical Guys V38 Optical Grade Final Polish

Detailers turn to Chemical Guys V38 Optical Grade Final Polish to perfect depth, lustre, and gloss when nothing less than perfection will do at the conclusion of a polishing detail. V38 Optical Grade Final Polish improves reflection, sheen, and gloss on any paint finish by removing compound and polishing markings left behind from earlier processes. V38 is compatible with single-stage paint finishes, ceramic clear coats, and conventional clear coats.

Cutting Pads: Chemical Guys Hex-Logic Medium-Heavy Cutting Pad

As you can tell, I love Chemical Guys products so picking the Chemical Guys Hexi-Logic cutting pad was an easy choice. The open-cell foam pad features a honeycomb pattern called Hex-Logic technology from the company, which is helpful for reaching odd angles and corners and distributing formulae evenly. Additionally, the open cell makes the pad cleaner than others.

They also have more textures, including a finishing pad and a stronger cutting pad, and last longer than similar products on the market.

Polishing Pads: Viking Car Care Microfiber Pads

Viking Car Care makes an excellent microfiber applicator pad that is affordable and comes in a variety of options. The four different types of applicator pads are regular, cotton terry, rectangle, and pads with a finger pocket. You can select to buy 2, 6, or 8 applicator pads at once. These pads, which come in soft microfiber or cotton terry and are safe for clear coats, are made for applying waxes, polishes, and protectants. The best part is that despite being so inexpensive, you’ll use them all because they’re all machine washable and reusable. The rectangular pads are 5′′ by 3′′ by 1.5′′, while the round pads have a 5′′ diameter.

Microfiber: The Rag Company All Purpose Microfiber Terry Cleaning Towels

Look, for microfiber I like to keep it really simple. There are ton of companies out there and you can get really silly with costs on microfiber. Through years of testing different products I’ve found that any microfiber is really just microfiber. As such, I personally really like The Rag Company’s All Purpose Microfiber Terry Cleaning towels which have an 80/20 polyester-polyamide ratio. You can get them in a variety of sizes and quantities which makes it super easy to have them.

Happy detailing!
