How To Fix Orange Light On Belkin Router?

Blinking Orange Light

If you see a blinking orange light on your Belkin router, then it means the router is not able to detect the mode. It could be due to the following reasons:

  1. The modem is turned off.

Check the connections

  4. Wait until the lights get stabilized. You will no longer see the orange light on the router. If you do, then continue with the troubleshooting steps.

Clone MAC address on Belkin Router

  1. Connect your computer to the router using an Ethernet cable or wirelessly.
  2. Login to the web interface of Belkin router.
  3. Locate MAC address in the ‘Internet WAN settings’ section. Once found, click on it.
  4. Click the ‘Clone’ button and then, click ‘Save’.

Your router will reboot now. Once it does, unplug it from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, and plug it back in. Wait until the lights become stabilized and then, restart your computer.

If the issue continues to appear, then you need to update the firmware of your Belkin router.

Update Belkin router’s firmware

Make sure to connect your router to the Ethernet cable for a stable internet connection because that is paramount for updating the firmware of the router.

Here are the steps for updating the firmware of the Belkin router:

  1. Go to the Belkin website and enter your router’s model. Click on the router and then, click the ‘Downloads/Firmware’ option in the window that appears next.
  2. Now, select the router version and then, select ‘Download’. You’ll be prompted to save a ‘.bin’ file.
  3. Login to your Belkin router.
  4. Locate the ‘Utilities’ section in the upper left corner of the screen followed by clicking on ‘Firmware Update’.
  5. Click ‘Browse’ and find the ‘.bin’ file that you have downloaded on the computer.
  6. Select the firmware followed by clicking on ‘Update’.
  7. Click ‘OK’ to proceed with the firmware upgrade followed by clicking ‘OK’.
  8. It will take a few minutes after which, the router will reboot.
