Cons/disadvantages of studying and working in Canada

Getting money while on campus is good. However, some adverse effects follow this job while in school. some of these negative effects/disadvantages are thus:

  1.  Lead to the lateness of the lecture
  2.  Unprepared for examination
  3.  lead to carry over
  4.  low Commutative Grade Points (CGP)
  5.  Probation/ repetition of the academic year
  6.  Poor result
  7.  Low level of Knowledge
  8. Affect the entire life

Lateness to Lecture

Many international students who study and work in Canada always come late to their lectures and tests. As a result, they may not know what to write on their tests or examinations. And this may lead to the beginning of their failure in the study.

Unprepared for Test/Examination

For these international students to engage in jobs or work during study. Their attention is already divided. However, they will deviate much of their attention to the place of work and little or non-attention to their studies. At the end of the semester, they will not prepare well for the examination, leading to failure or carrying over in that course.

Lead to Carry Over.

As I explained above, if these international students shift their attention to their jobs rather than studies at the end of the semester. They will not do well in their examination. And the result will be carried over.

Low Cumulative Grade Points

Working at the same time studying on campus primarily for international students affects their CGP. A CGP is the total points a student has in all the courses he learns per semester divided by the total credits units of that semester. That gives you the CGP of that semester. When this CGP is lower than the agreed points by the school authority, that may lead to probation(Repetition of the year).

Poor Results

65% of the total population of those international students studying and working in Canada are not graduating with good grades. They would have gotten good grades when they faced their studies without work.
There always come out lower than what they would have. Therefore, this leads to poor results or grades. These study and international work students are bound to graduate with a low level of Knowledge because of their lack of concentration during their study days. They constantly shift most of their attention to their place of work.

However, when their colleagues were learning, they did not attend all classes. Sometimes, they will be present in class, but their attention may not be there because they have exhausted their energy at work. Therefore, their knowledge level may be low compared to their year mates.

Low level of knowledge

Working and studying simultaneously lead to a low level of knowledge. This is because the hours they are supposed to devote to their study have been given to their work, as a result, their mates study, they may not have the time to study them because of lack of time for their studies.

Negatively Affect Their Entire Lives.

Life after school is worst than school life. Especially when you are still job hunting, working during your study years can not compare with your mates in the labor market. For instance, an interview is primary for applicants seeking a job.

As an international graduate who was studying at the same time as working, you may not be able to answer your interview questions correctly. Because when your mates were attending lectures, you were busy with your job, making you not hear all your classes. Therefore, the job may not be given to you. All these result from a lack of concentration while still in school, affecting your life and career.
