Job Description

As an Experienced Bookkeeper, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate Financial records and supporting the financial operations of our insurance business. Your expertise in bookkeeping, combined with your deep understanding of the insurance industry, will be essential in providing valuable financial insights and collaborating with the business teams. Your ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to dynamic challenges will be crucial to your success in this role.

Responsibilities:

•  Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, processing invoices, and reconciling accounts.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, adhering to the established accounting principles and company policies.
• Utilize your extensive knowledge of the insurance industry to ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
• Understand and implement insurance-specific financial processes, such as premium accounting, claims, and commission calculations.
• Collaborate with business teams to analyze financial data and provide valuable insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Partner with stakeholders across the organization to align financial strategies with business goals.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in handling unexpected challenges and evolving business needs.
• Assist with audits, ensuring accurate and timely provision of financial documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, reporting requirements, and internal controls.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) are a plus.
• Proven experience as a bookkeeper, with a strong track record in the insurance industry.
• Proficiency in industry-specific accounting software and tools.
• Solid understanding of insurance-specific financial processes and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to provide valuable financial insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with business teams and stakeholders
•  Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of meeting strict deadlines.
• Adaptable and capable of working effectively in a high-paced and ever-changing environment.
• Experience with NetSuite – Advantage.
